Description
This gorgeous 3rd owner 1965 Jaguar Series I 4.2 liter E-Type roadster presents in excellent restored condition.
It is a well-documented, extremely rare, early numbers matching 1965 model lovingly built as car #139 on October 6th 1964 and purchased new in December 8th 1964. The above mentioned verified by the included Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate.
An 18 month professional restoration was performed by a Jaguar specialist here in Vancouver, Canada to bring the car back to its original condition.
The rust free body was completely restored. The paint work is excellent and was finished flawlessly in an original Jaguar colour (Clarendon Blue). The body has been refreshed with new rubber trim and much of the the chrome professionally polished or restored. As per the original specification, the interior was restored and re-trimmed in Burgundy leather with a tasteful original black convertible top in the correct material. There is also a fully functional period correct radio fitted to the centre console.
The engine has been completely rebuilt and all mechanical components were either refurbished or replaced to an exceptional level. The gearbox and rear axle have also been painstakingly rebuilt.
A brand new stainless steel exhaust, a new electronic ignition, and an upgraded cooling fan have also been installed. The car comes with new Dayton, period-correct wire wheels and Pirelli tires in addition to the original wheels fitted with Avon tires.
The original copper knock-off removal hammer, the jack and all tools in a perfectly preserved original tool bag sit below the trunk floor, and all the original manuals that came with the car new in 1964.
This being a "drop floor" example, the cockpit is comfortable and inviting, and is a dream to drive with more then ample amounts of both luxury and performance.
This is a very fine, very nicely restored early E-type 4.2 that should prove to be a worthy addition to any collection and provide plenty of gratification for the next owner. Meticulously stored in a climate controlled high security garage, and ready for viewing prior to relocating to its new home.
