DECEMBER 2003 GOLD JAGUAR S TYPE 2.5 V6 AUTOMATIC
NEEDS A SECOND HAND MOTOR INSTALLED
Low kilometers - plastic water pipe broke resulting in head gasket failure. Car drove very well - tight - low kilometers. Just bad luck about head gasket.
My business partner wanted to do up the motor like new and his motor guy basically messed the whole job up.
We are mechanics - but don't have facilities to rebuild heads
We are now in dispute with head rebuilder (he still has our motor) - its all too hard!!
What should have been a straightforward $900 job for us turned into a massive disaster.
I simply cannot be bothered and ended up buying an XJ8 just recently.
Therefore decided to swallow the bitter pill and not lose any more money on it by selling as is.
The car is very good nick - front and rear bumpers will need to be resprayed with some parking damage - MINOR damage - simply old mans touch parking
Jaguar will need to be thoroughly detailed as its been sitting at our workshop since October 2014.
Overall car is very honest - interior is very good condition
Will need to be towed
Will need a second hand motor - depending on where you buy can be $900-1500 Plus installation
For someone who is savvy - pick up a low kilometer - very genuine - tight car -
Put in a low KMS motor and you will have a car with 10-15 years of trouble free motoring.
These late model S Types are excellent to drive - very reliable
This car repaired will still be cheaper than a second hand Falcon G6 or VE Commodore
Can ship interstate - higher cost as its a non goer
