Jaguar : XJ Vanden Plas

Listing for sale my 1992 Jaguar Series III Vanden Plas V12. This is number 79 of the final 100 produced for the Canadian market. I am the second owner. The original owner leased, then purchased from Jaguar Canada and I subsequently purchased it 3 years ago from the estate of the original owner. This is a completely original, unmolested car and has never been restored or repainted and has just over 83,000 original kilometres. It has the original Black Cherry paint - one of two main colours originally specified for this final run (oyster being the 2nd option). I have been a Jaguar collector since the mid 80's and this is the nicest final 100 I have seen that is as it left the factory. No restoration, no repaints, no surprises. The V12 runs flawlessly, shifts smoothly and moves down the road elegantly. Everything is tight on the car that only a low mileage example can achieve and is difficult to replicate on a restored car. The interior, as shown in the photos, has all original soft leather with virtually no evidence of use. The walnut dash is nice and dark with a tight burl grain. These were essentially hand built cars in the final run and only the best materials were used. The walnut door fillets have the Peruvian boxwood accents. Original headliner is in nice shape as are the carpets including the "goat hair" over mats as originally supplied. It is truly an unparalleled driving experience with old world charm and when hand built quality meant something.
