Description
This an absolutely gorgeous XJ6 Jaguar sedan out-fitted in Old English white (off-white) with biscuit tan hide-leather interior and coordinating carpets. The car is finished with a dual light gold fine-lines on the body waist-line. The overall combination presents very elegantly.
This is a 2 previous owner example with 84,000 original low miles. Delivered in Florida in the summer of 1987, the car was owned by a mature lady who rarely drove it. At her elderly age in 2010, the car was put away in climate control storage and travelled less than 1,000 miles in the subsequent 11 years. The car only came to Illinois this year and so has been completely spared from inclement weather and as such is rust and scale free. The car was purchased from the family's estate.
The body on this car is straight and the paint is in very good condition sporting mostly original paint. It does have some very minor little marks here and there from consistent with that expected from a low mileage example that has been well maintained and regularly cleaned and polished. The paint is consistent and lustrous. There is no rust and the underside is very clean and dry.
The interior of the car is in very nice condition with excellent Connolly hide leather upholstery finished in the biscuit tan leather. The leather is in wonderful condition with just the right amount of patina ("patina" does not mean rips & tears!). All the wood on the dash, doors and console is original and in very good condition. There is some delaminating in the wood piece below the on-board computer panel but it is not that objectionable. This piece can easily be changed for about $200 if it bothers you. The rest of the wood and lacquer finish is shiny, without any lifting and in excellent condition. Especially the main dash and glovebox – the most important part and otherwise the most expensive area to repair. The door inserts are also equally close to perfect.
Their is no sagging or marks in the headlining. It presents in original appearance and the carpet is excellent. All interior chrome finishes are almost perfect. Overall it is like that of a 10 year old well looked after Jaguar and smells like it too.
All interior features and functions are fully operational including electrics – windows, gauges, lights etc. The A/C blows cold, the heater nice and toasty. The sunroof works as it should without any leaks. Everything is also clean and crisp. It still has its original stereo system fitted.
The exterior chrome, stainless steel and bright work finishes are all good without any pitting and the rubber around the car is very fine.
Mechanically, the car is in superior condition and the original presentation under the bonnet clearly shows that. The car was recently put thru the workshop and a safety inspection carried out. Exhaust is good with the correct original stainless exhaust tips fitted. The car has a good set of Michelin 215/70-15 tyres mounted on factory alloys that are in amazingly fine condition. No fading in the finish, no corrosion, no scuffs. Even the Jaguar centre caps are all nice. The spare is matching and still has the factory fitted Pirelli P4000 fitted.
The car has a good clean AutoCheck score and report.
This is a 9 out of 10 driver example that needs nothing else doing. It makes for a gorgeous “weekender” that you could take to your next Jaguar meet with pride and joy.

~~ Being a significantly well-above average example of an XJ6 Jaguar, this will bring a good value and is priced accordingly. Notwithstanding, sensible offers are welcomed. ~~
