About The artist
Born in Vienna Austria in 1943, Leo Schimanszky has developed his artistic foundation while traveling throughout Europe. In 1966, Mr. Schimanszky migrated to Canada where he began his career as a sculptor in 1971. Over the last 45 years, he has based his art in nature. He explores various techniques and creates figurative and abstract forms while revealing the spiritual essence within the fluidity of his work.
While the subtle tranquil elements of the artist's sculptures are clearly evident, his paintings and works on paper display his daring exuberance. His bold colors and motifs emulate Schimanszky's own character.
Sculptor, painter and composer, Leo Schimanszky celebrated the 21st year of the XJ-S in a personal and very extraordinary way - he created a painting with this theme then transferred it to his 1988 XJ-S coupe!
The Jaguar World magazine ran an article in its November/December 1997 issue on Leo's Art Car.
