Description
1953 XK-120 FHC – Frame off restoration. This car is in
great condition. The body work and paint were done approx.. 15 years ago but
the car has been garage kept since and only driven on sunny days. The car looks
as good underneath as it does on top. Only issue is on the corner of the
drivers door where the paint is starting to bubble. The interior has completely
new upholstery and all the wood has been refinished. The steering wheel was
reconditioned, as well. All gauges work perfectly fine. Mechanically the car is
in like new condition. All new brakes; steering gear was reconditioned and
suspension parts replaced. Has all new chrome wire wheels and knock offs and
are mated to new hubs so there is no sloppiness when driving. Gearbox was also reconditioned. Engine and
carbs (including starting carb) were rebuilt and the car runs extremely well. I
have driven it above 100 mph and it is smooth as glass and has more power to
offer.
I have a heater core that appears in working condition that is not installed (I only drive in good weather so heat was not an issue). The washer jar is broken but is available at the Jaguar parts store (I have not had the need to use the washers so I didn’t bother replacing).
This was my fathers project but he died unexpectedly. I took the car and completed the mechanical rebuild to make this a truly reliable driver and have enjoyed every minute in it. But now it is time for someone with the time to take it out on a more regular basis.
I can take more pictures for the serious buyer and will try to answer any questions, since this was my fathers project I do not have all the history, but will do my best.
