Jaguar XK8 Convertible, 2005, in excellent condition. The year model is perhaps the most sought after of all XK8s and this one in sleek gray with midnight black top, crisp beige leather, elm wood veneers and chromed alloy wheels, is a stunning iteration of this beautiful car.
The 4.2 liter V8 engine, with close to 300hp, provides effortless and rapid performance. Being a Jaguar, it is an extremely comfortable and relaxing car to drive. The ride is cosseting (perfect for our rough Californian roads), but the car handles well during spirited driving. When pushed it's no slouch, and it is especially at home on freeways and gently twisting country roads. The V8 engine is quiet at cruising speed, and superbly smooth and refined, with very little vibration.
The car is in excellent condition and has been very well maintained throughout its life. The convertible top is tear-free and works faultlessly. The bodywork and paint are also excellent. Mechanically, the car is sound. There's plenty of tread on the tires, the disks and pads have plenty of life too. The late XK8 cars are robust.
