1998 Jeep Cherokee. PLEASE READ COMPLETELY: Totally Original Stock. The body (unibody) is extremely clean and straight. The interior is is clean and shows almost no wear - seats, carpets, dash and headliner. Glass is like new. All stock right down to tape player. Front brakes have new front rotors, calipers, pads, hoses. Paint is good, there are some scratches and nicks. It is a repaint at some recent time in black with metallic. Wheels are stock and clean no rash. Tires 4 new Michelin tires less than 500 miles on them. New Radiator, Water pump, Harmonic balancer, Spark Plugs, Distributor, Cap, Rotor, Filters
The rest of the story - I bought this Jeep on eBay. It was an impulse buy. The the frame rails, the floors, bottom of doors are dry and clean no rot. The only spot of rust on the body is on the rocker at the corner of the drivers door, shown in the last picture. The suspension is rusty and needs to be replaced. The oil pan is rusty. Vehicle does not leak any fluids. Drives good and straight, but the suspension will have to be replaced at some point and it is a significant process. The best we can figure is the suspension sat parked in water. No rust on the rest of the vehicle. See pictures floors and rails are dry. The original eBay seller covered up the rusty suspension by spraying the suspension with undercoating.
If you can do the work or have someone that can do the work, this is a good investment and you will have a Jeep XJ with only 30,000 miles on it. Great to restore to original or if you are building out a Cherokee XJ. Great Project XJ. Inspections are welcome and recommended.
I placed a starting bid of $4,999 on the auction. I believe is a fair price and significantly below what I paid and then put into the XJ
