Description
Welcome to, and thank you for looking at the reluctant sale of my 2003 Jeep Cherokee 2.8D Limited Edition.
When I bought my Jeep in Sept 2010, it had done 122'000 miles (aprox.) and had one previous owner which I was lead to believe the guy bought it new direct from the dealer as a limited edition, which he had to pay extra to have the leather seats replaced at the dealership as he was doing lots of motorway mileage and didn't want leather seating. He also had a private plate which was replaced with the current one.
I originally bought the Jeep as I wanted a good size family car that was safe on the road transporting the family around, cheap to run, good in snow / ice and looked good. Well this Jeep has done it all. It has been a great vehicle and never let us down. It's been great in the snow and it has taken us to Scotland, London, Retford and South Cornwall for numerous holidays every year as well as being able to tow our trailer. This is a very reluctant sale as I love my Jeep but my wife now has her dream car and I now have a new work van which I have the full time use of so we can't justify keeping the Jeep. We've only done 8000 miles since the last MOT in 2014 and a majority of that has been done on holidays or visiting family around the country as previously mentioned. Since we've had this Jeep it's not been smoked in or had pets in.
The engine had a full service including new cam belt kit at 146600 miles (less than 10000 miles ago, logged in service manual) in 2013. Last week the brake pads started to make a sound so I got new brake pads put on all round and put it in for an MOT (done for cash, no receipt) even though it's not due until July. It went straight though but had some advisory items..1, three tyres worn close to legal limit - 2, Windscreen has a 10mm circle, which has been there since I bought the Jeep - 3, o/s/f brake pipe and union corroded. Wouldn't take much to sort to be honest.
I have the original service booklet and I have kept it serviced and maintained it well. The air con is freezing cold so works well and everything works as it should. Only down points, and I'm being pick'y..A, - tailgate window needs the key fob to open (which I obviously have on both key rings), B - Part-time light is showing 'on' on the dash when in 2WD, 4WD light 'on' when in Part-time. It's been like it since I've had the Jeep but never bothered me as the TRANSMISSION WORKS PERFECTLY WELL IN ALL GEARS. C - Drivers door stay cracked, it works though. D - Unfortunately the alloy wheels have lost their coating and looks worn (see photos).
All in all the Jeep goes really well and on our long runs I get between 37 - 40 mpg and that's travelling at 60-70mph fully loaded. As I say it's a reluctant sale and bearing in mind the advisory's and it's age related marks on the Jeep it's still a lot of car for the money so I'll try and answer all questions but I'm no mechanic and I certainly won't be entertaining tyre kickers, just serious buyers. The Jeep is still being used so the mileage will increase to that shown in the photos.
Additions2 x 12v plug in's (one front and one in rear), On board computer for trip mileage, servicing, mpg, stop clock, outside temp, miles left in the tank of fuel etc., Electric heated and folding wing mirrors, white dash clocks, all electric adjustable front seats, CRUISE CONTROL, removable tow bar, DVD manual with original service manual / paperwork.
The Jeep will be sold as seen tested and approved, cash on collection only. I do have it advertised else where so reserve the right to remove at any time.
Thanks again for looking !!! Tel: 07833667202
