Here I reluctantly have my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 60th Anniversary Edition with GENUINE 70,000 miles (ish)
I have had her for nearly 2 years and in that time have only done approx 6,000 miles mainly used for carrying my bikes and the odd car boot.
There has been no expense spared on maintenance, 4 Cooper Discoverer AT3 tyres were fitted end of 2013 and have probably only done 4,000 miles on them. A Pure stereo system was fitted to give DAB/ Bluetooth capability!
Other work includes new front brakes (discs/ pads/ calipers), brake pipes, abs sensors, rocker cover gaskets, EGR gaskets, front union joints and bushes and the water pump have been replaced in the last 3 or 4 months (Total cost over £1,200).
MOT until November 2015 (hasn't failed yet and a lot of the advisories from last time have been completed as above) last serviced November 2013 (again due November if you want to stick to the 2 year recommendation)
There is a lot of paperwork from the previous owner who was very meticulous with maintenance etc and myself. Service book is available and stamped.
Overall she runs superbly for her age - easily cruises at 70mph (+) - 30mpg is also easily achievable!
Tax is (was) £230 for a year which is pretty good for a 4x4!
Bad points - a spot of rust under the drivers side rear window - an easy fix, a few small scuffs and scratches - nothing serious and no dents other the the odd car park ding. And the drivers seat is torn on the side - and was when I bought it and hasn't got any worse. Otherwise the specialist I use for the work in Northampton say she is a very good example that drives well.
Only getting rid as I hardly use her now and am looking to change my daily drive to a 4x4 shortly so no need for 2 unfortunately (will not be allowed!)
