Description

1972 Jeep CJ5 - This Jeep is a head turner. I can't drive it without people asking me about it or telling me "let me know if you ever sell it." Exhaust has a nice growl to it but it's not too loud to the driver/passenger while rolling down the road. I bought the power steering hardware off eBay, which I believe came off an old Wagoneer, glad I did it. Paint job is 3 months old. Rebuilt 304 motor has 300 miles on it since I completed the restoration in 2012. Restoring an old Jeep is a lot of fun, but it is not a profitable one. I stopped counting at $35,000. If you want a Jeep that can crawl rocks and drive through mud that's 2' deep, this is not the Jeep for you. If you want something you can enjoy that will be dependable for years and years to come. this might be your Jeep. A lot of old Jeeps have overheating issues, wiring issues, brake issues, etc.. That's why I replaced the radiator, hoses, water pump, wiring harness, brake lines, brake drums, brake shoes, master cylinder, etc.. I tell people this is a "2012.1972 Jeep CJ5," because the effective age of this car is 4-5 years old. The engineering is better than 1972 as well with the Shackle Reverse Kit, Steering Stabilizer and Power Steering upgrade. A lot of old Jeeps have rust in the gas tanks. This gas tank is 5 years old.
Jeep has not been in the mud since restoration. It's been built for the road, not the mud. Selling because I have a family now and I never drive it.It's time for someone else to enjoy this Jeep. Clear title. This is a Jeep restoration that will last another 45 years if it is garage kept and taken care of. There is a bikini top included with the jeep but no other top is included in this sale. I never drove it in bad weather, so I didn't see the need. This is Jeep is meant to be driven and enjoyed, but I don't know why you would drive it on rainy days or extreme cold. All of the guts (radiator, fan motor, hoses, etc..) for the heater are new, but I did not tie in all the duct for the windshield defrost. The only part or components of this Jeep that have not been rebuilt, reconditioned or replaced is the inside of the transmission, transfer case and the differential. There was a bearing that had to be replaced in the transmission, but I did not to an entire rebuild. All new fluids throughout.
