Description
Selling my XJ Cherokee. Has started running a bit rough, suspected head gasket, still drives. On LPG, needs new fuel pump to run on Petrol. Body is in excellent condition, absolutely no rust, near-mint gloss black paint with all pinstripes and details as new, a few very minor scrapes on bumpers. Safari Snorkel, factory alloys, full electrics (drivers seat motors a bit slower than they used to be, but otherwise fine). Interior is in excellent condition except passenger seat leather is ripped. has Kenwood CD/Aux Stereo, will be sold with or without depending on how much it goes for. Tires getting on the low side, and rear diff makes a little noise. Has been off-road 3 times since I've owned it, and when I say off-road I mean seen a little mud or sand. Always cleaned the undercarriage thoroughly afterwards.
Things I've replaced in the last 2 years:
Panhard rod, pitman arm, all tie-rod ends, steering damper, sway bar bushes, upper and lower control arm bushings, all engine and transmission mounts ,ignition leads replaced 2 months ago. Brand new front brake discs and pads about 2 months ago. Suffered from the inevitable Cherokee engine-mount bracket-bolt failure on driver's side, so replaced with a bulletproof bracket from Brown Dog in the US about a year ago. Also suffered from a known recall issue with the steering-box bracket/chassis rail about a month ago, took it to Jeep who had it professionally repaired by a crash-repair specialist, overseen by a team (yes a TEAM!) of engineers from Chrysler. They had it for 5 weeks and they gave me a brand new Wrangler to drive in the meantime, all covered by Chrysler.
This would make a great project or an excellent body to swap parts into from your old worn out Cherokee. With a new gasket or motor (they can be had very cheap) and possibly a new rear diff (also very cheap) this would be an awesome car.
