Description
Up for auction is my daughter project 1976 Jeep CJ5
4X4. All the work that was done to it
was done by me and my daughter. We bought the Jeep from someone in Wisconsin
who originally did all the fiberglass body switch and V8 swap. It had a tired
305 when we got it and nothing worked. I will try to tell all we did and
describe as best as possible.
Body: Yellow full fiberglass body = no rust! Paint is not great and has some scratches but is presentable. New Best Top soft top, soft doors and hardware, new windshield and windshield frame seal, Rotobar light bar and 6 KC lights (these are not hooked up yet), 3” nerf bars. 3” body lift, 33x12.50x15 Baja tires on steel black rims. (Tires have a lot of life left in them).
Suspension: Stock but I added a front sway bar which helped tremendously, could use new shocks and a steering stabilizer. Jeep has power steering and drum brakes all around with a new master cylinder.
Engine: New GM crate 350 engine with less than 1000 miles so there is a lot of life in this Jeep! New Holley 600 vacuum secondary carb with electric choke, HEI distributor, Headman headers with full dual exhaust and cherry bombs, new aluminum radiator, new fuel pump, new starter, new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing, 3-speed manual T-150 transmission, power steering and new battery.
Interior: New Summit Racing racing buckets, new 5-way race seat belt harnesses (front and back seats), locking center console, new mechanical water temp and oil pressure gauges, and an electronic speedometer, tilt steering column out of 1979 CJ and updated wiring harnesses and fuse box, neoprene seat cover on back seat. AM/FM CD player not completely hooked up yet.
There are still somethings that need attention like the fuel sending unit needs to be replaced and the horn does not work but the Jeep always starts and runs great even after sitting in subzero temps for a month. This Jeep will treat you right and it is a real sharp looking truck but she wants a new car so the project must go.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email I will answer them as quickly as I can.
