Description

For Sale!
This 1968 Jeep Wagoneer is a real gem. This is the J-100 4-Wheel Drive model, with the very LIMITED and rare center console, automatic transmission, and comfortable bucket seats. Original Buick 350 Dauntless motor was rebuilt in 1986, improved with an RV camshaft and upgraded to run on unleaded fuel. Its Turbo 400 transmission was the top-of-the-line for this model.
Ivory white with a rich, red interior. All-original headliner, dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel. Repainted in 1989.Both rear quarter panels have been replaced. An Addaleaf raised suspension kit was installed in 1991, giving this Jeep a slightly higher stance. In 2004 I had the exhaust system overhauled and rebuilt, complete with a Flowmaster muffler.Bucket seats, console armrest and rear seat have all been newly re-upholstered in 2013. Brakes and master cylinder replaced within the past year.Improved original fan blade with an electric fan, and No computer in this baby, and a huge engine compartment makes it a snap to work on! We have original maintenance records dating back to 1989.
This truck has been in the same family since it was driven off the dealer’s lot by me in 1967. We have the original bill of sale still! It has been garaged all its life and used mainly for fishing trips and short family excursions. Odometer reads 64,000 miles. This Jeep was exclusively garaged and only very rarely driven between 1981 and 1989 after my father’s health declined and I was stationed overseas in the Air Force. I have worked hard to keep it in pristine condition for decades.
Only a few original parts are no longer with her. Electric rear windshield motor has been replaced with a manual crank. All-original glass throughout the vehicle except for that rear window.Original clock has been replaced with oil pressure and temperature gauges. A separate transmission cooler was installed.Original AM/FM radio was replaced in the 1980s with a cassette player and speakers installed into all four doors. WIndshield wiper motor is operational but somewhat erratic, and would be an inexpensive fix.Very minor rust can be seen on the door panels, as expected for a vehicle of this era.
All in all, this is a solid vehicle with a long track record of maintenance and care, owned by the same family for more than 50 years. We have recently downsized after my retirement and just no longer have space for all of our vehicles! You will be hard-pressed to find a better example of a Jeep Wagoneer from this era with the original engine still intact!
