2002 TJ Wrangler X Rock Crawler For Sale
If you are looking for a pretty jeep, this is not the one for you. However, if you want a strong, capable and mechanically sound jeep that can be driven on the street and also hit the rocks, keep on reading.
Inspected in Texas in March without issue and road legal, this jeep is driven to work several days a week at 50-60 mph without issue. This jeep has been used on the trails and has its share of bumps and bruises, including one embarrassing flop, but is mechanically sound. I’ve owned her since 2010 and put 12,000 miles on her in that time. She was a “mall crawler” when I bought her, but I turned her into a “rock princess” and unlocked her inner Jeep.
Mileage: 101,300, 4.0 L inline 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission
Soft top with full steel doors. Working AC and heater (AC serviced May 2016 and in good order). Kenwood Radio with soundbar and center console subwoofer. Inspected in TX and road legal. Driven several days at week at 50-60 mph without issue
AXLES and TIRES:
4.88 gears front and rear. Dana 30 front with Yukon chrome moly shafts and Yukon Spartan “lunchbox” locker. New front rotors and disc brakes at ~90,000 miles. Dana 44 rear with Ten Factory chrome moly shafts and Detroit rear locker. Spare OEM good condition front and rear shafts. Drum brakes in rear. 35 x 12.5 x R15 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ (installed March 2015, at 95,500 miles). Black steel wheels with D windows
ARMOR and PROTECTION:
Warn rock sliders. Best-top Highrock 4x4 front bumper. LoD Xtreme Duty rear bumper with swingout bumper. Poison Spyder gas tank skid. Nth degree oil tank skid. JCR Steering box skid. Rock Hard 4x4 bolt in cage with floor mounts and frame tie ins. Rock Hard 4x4 extra cage braces for rear and diagonal cross ties. Poison Spyder heavy duty header bar kit (to complete roll cage). Crane differential covers for Dana 30 and Dana 44 axles. Lower control arm skids front and rear. Corbeau reclining racing seats with 4 point retractable harnesses in front. Standard bench seat with factory seat belts in rear.
SUSPENSION:
Rubicon Express short arm lift with adjustable control arms. Upgraded HD RE track bar w/ bigger heim joint & replaced steering stabilizer (Aug 2016, 99,500 miles). Rebuilt 8 superflex control arm joints and Clevite bushings (June 2014, 96,000 miles). Replaced jounce “bump stop” bumpers (Summer 2016). 1” body lift. Slip yoke elimination (SYE) drive shafts front and rear. Currie HD steering (2012).
OTHER ITEMS:
Rhino lined interior (no carpets). Warn M8000 winch and controller with wire cable. Hi-Lift jack mounted on hood. Bestop Safari Top. Cobra 19 CB radio and Wilson Antenna. Tuffy rear deck security enclosure. Working front trail lights (2) and rear light (1). Clutch replaced in 2013. Oil and filter changed every 3,000 miles or less (sooner based on time, not mileage). Radiator hoses changed and flushed May 2014 (95,900 miles). Fan clutch replaced Sept 2016 (99,975 miles). Tow bar and light kit to flat tow (although now I trailer)
COSMETICS:
Not pretty - but it's a jeep. Fenders are bent, driver rear corner has been massaged, hood has some bondo work, and windshield color doesn't match the jeep (gentle, but embarrassing flop in 2010). However, all lights, horns and accessories work and the frame is straight and in good condition. All gauges work on the dash.
Transportation: I have a trailer and can consider helping to transport it to the DFW or other areas within 3 hrs of Shreveport. If you buy the jeep, I can also sell the trailer, a 2010 BigTex 70CH car hauler with a 16' deck, 19.5' total length.
