Description

Ladies and Gentleman, If you are looking for the Dominic Torretto Fast and The Furious "I live my life 1 quarter mile at a time" type of vehicle, this is not the page you should be on. Try using keywords such as "Scion" or "Subaru" in the ebay search box and best of luck on what you're looking for. If you're looking for the Jeep Wrangler that just pounds the road moving at a smooth 0 - 60 in 14 seconds sounding like The American Pharaoh out of the gates at The Preakness in 2015 on the way to the Triple Crown, this might be something you might be interested in. I've been through hell and high water with this Jeep, but a wise man once told me, "You gotta get through the bullshit to get the beauty." I've owned it for a few years now. Bought it from a John Doe Craigslist add awhile back. Needed to be restored. Sent it to the frame shop and had it completely blasted and patched where it needed. Finished it off with Ziebart protection care and it goes twice a year even though its only recomended once. Had the complete paint job done with the original Pacific Blue and Islander stripe kit put on (done by a 5 star mechanic correctly 3 years ago). The interior was completely redone as well. You can see all of this with the photos. If you've been following these Islander sales lately, there was a blue one with around 40,000 miles (allegedly) with Vin issues, meaning the odometer was probably rolled back, and that was up for 25K and sold in 3 days. Last week there was a blue one that was in ok shape, no hard top, 100,000 miles on it and it sold for 13K. There is currently a real POS rebuilt rust bucket on auction with a buy it now for 12,500 that has a flea market paint job and an afrermarket brown soft top that you know is BS because gray is the original. If you look at those photos, you can see engine parts painted, the dash is painted black (was not the factory color, which is gray) and the fish eye blue paint job was probably done on the street during a dust storm, and some unfortunate fellow is already bidding almost 8K for it. Poor sucker didn't do his homework and is gonna get taken in a high inflation market. So unfortunate that people will sell crap like that on ebay and sucker somebody. Remember, "You don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle." This vehicle doesn't even have 65,000 miles on it yet. 63 and some change. It's my daily driver so If it takes a minute to sell it the official mileage will change. Might not even get to 64,000 by that time but just doing it for the sake of the page. This Jeep is almost 33 years old and it's not perfect. But I'm not even gonna sugar coat it. It's pretty god damn close to perfect. This Jeep wasn't built in a day. Neither was Rome. It took some time to put it all together. But man it looks and runs great now. Unlike these other alleged Jeep resto vehicles, I have the photos of when I bought it and pictures of some of the body work that was done during the paint job. (I will share with serious inquiries the photos that thank God I still have to prove I'm not 1 of these current BS sellers that take people and then play the "buyer beware" game. This was not a rust bucket like the other current listing or other listings that if you were to buy, the paint would start bubbling on 36 hours after the check clears. This is a well maintained Jeep with all professional work done to it.
This listing is not any of the following:
my loss is your gainlife got complicated, gotta let her go had her too long, gotta let her go out to pastureI wouldn't hesitate to drive this car cross country (because its a POS and will overheat going over 50 MPH)I can't believe I'm doing this so buy it before I change my mind I'm gonna really be kicking myself in the ass down the road for this a quick rust bucket resto like current and previous listings that have sold which is bad for the ebay community.
Here are some of the basic things I have done over time to bring this Jeep to where it is today
frame restorationcomplete 5 star paint job interior restoration. Bedrug interior, gray in color. Corbeau front seats. Original rear seat is in excellent shapeput a removable 22 x 36 sunroof in the hard top. Didn't purchase soft top yet so I thought of this idea which has been one of the best modifications I've done. It's greatpurchased a new engine from Titan Engines in Florida in Nov 2020 with a 3 year warranty. Over the years of trying to keep it original with the carb, I hated it. So I bought the new engine and the throttle body kit and it runs fantastic. I have that paperwork because that was a big spend for this vehicle (still under warranty for 2 1/2 years)Howell throttle bottle fuel injection kit Mean Green 400 AMP alternator Borla cat back exhaust that sounds greatbrand new audio. All new speakers, sound bar, Jensen touch audio display with all the options. Siruis XM, Apple car play, bluetooth, etc .. 03 - 06 Rubicon wheelsBF Goodrich all terrain tires AC kit that blows ice cold. AwesomeBrakes, Rotors, U joints, Leaf springs, manifold, and the list goes on. Pretty much everything over the last 3 years has been replaced
The few things that could be done still that are not deal breaking issues:
replace the hard top 1/4 window trim moulding with finish clip, which I have but haven't put on yetreplace the bushings inside the holes on the door hinges to tighten up how the doors swing, open and shut. I purchased them but haven't had the time to put them on yetremove the antenna from the panel, spray it black (clear) and put back on. Could use a fresh look but it doesn't bother me too muchthe aftermarket bumpers look good, but they were sanded down and sprayed with clear to give it a shiny look. They still look good, but there I am starting to see some small imperfections that I personally don't like, but I haven't had the time to get that done yet. the armrest in the middle is worn a bit. It is aftermarket and could be replacedone of the wheels has minor scuffing. Could use a coating if it bothers you but its not bad. The wheels and tires are maybe 9 months old. never had a soft top yet that I know of. If I end up keeping it I'm putting 1 on
