This Sorento's torquey highly sought after TURBO DIESEL platform along with it's seperate body-on-chassis construction means this compact SUV packs a big punch for it's size with a braked towing capacity of a whopping 2.8T! Thats more than the Toyota Prado or Hilux at 2.5T and the Nissan Pathfinder at 2.7T comparatively and only just shy of the Navara's 3.0T!
Perhaps you can't choose between manual or auto for towing and daily driving? The Sorento asks "why not have both"? Coupled to a sports auto transmission cruising peak hour traffic is a breeze and if you prefer to control your gears for towing like I do, just knock it over into the tiptronic manual side.
Similarly, why be running all 4 wheels burning up expensive fuel and tyres in constant 4WD when you don't need to? With the choice of part time Hi/Low 4x4 at the turn of a knob (no getting out to lock wheels in this beauty!) you can be offroad over the sand dunes or splashing about in some mud in a heartbeat.
If long journeys towing the van, boat or horsefloat is more your style though, you'll appreciate the cruise control and the standard safety features of ABS brakes, ESC and driver and passenger airbags.
The Sorento is also a perfect family vehicle with 3 child seat points and even room for the dog in the huge boot!
So, perhaps I've sparked your interest in this highly underrated car. It's a fantastic vehicle that requires no work, I bought it to tow my horse float but I have recently sold both the horse and float to reduce debt so now the Kia has to go in pursuit of this goal also sadly, I've downgraded to a daily runabout. Be quick, at this price it won't last! Has no problems and needs no work.
