Description
Offered for sale is my much loved Land Rover 101 forward control GS spec. It has a 3.5 V8 petrol engine and a 5 speed manual gear box.
The exterior is very straight clean and tidy. although the drivers door top could do with swapping but is still useable. The Canvas is a fairly new and is in very good condition and the stick set is all good and complete. The car has 5 very good tyres 2 are new, the wheels have been shot blasted and powder coated black.
The interior is basic as you would expect there is no modifications in the rear, all the engine covers are there and fitted, There is a set of comfortable leather seats fitted that I like, but standard ones could easily be refitted.
The chasis is in very good shape and solid and has been cleaned off and wax-oiled,
The 101 has been a project for me that I must now let go, I daren't list how much I have spent on this car! but here is a list of some of the work I have carried out:
The exhaust is new and is on standard 101 down pipes and a custom made rear pipe that sounds great.metal brake pipes replaced with copper onesall flexible rubber brake hoses are newnew brake shoes all round.new brake cylinders all roundall 4 brake drums have been shot blasted, turned on the lathe and then zinc coatednew clutch master cylinder + slave cylinder and all pipe workelectrics sorted and everything works lights etcwipers and linkages sorted and parts replacedfull service all filters, oils and anti freeze changedThe car starts on the button, runs and drives well, the engine is sweet with no overheating issues and the gear change is good and smooth.
I have all the paperwork for the car V5 etc and it is currently on a Q reg, this can be changed to an age related number once it has an mot, as it still has all its ID plates etc. All you need is the heritage certificate from the motor heritage at Gaydon and send that to DVLA and they will change it over for you.
The car has no tax or Mot but will only need very minor work for MOT, the main thing is the brakes are poor and need bleeding / sorting, everything is new but they are still poor and the pedal is still very soft.
