Description

Hello and welcome to this very rare find A Low Mileage, Left Hand Drive Defender in all Original condition and Rot Free!
This UK military Defender 110 is absolutely fantastic condition for its age. With only 31k miles on the clock, a strong 2.5 NA diesel that pulls well and drives great, 5speed manual gearbox with no issues and a working differential with no noise, all wrapped in a Military Patina in Left hand Drive is a gem!.
This truck has the potential to become something great as a restoration project or even to use as a weekend fun utility truck.
The color peels tell a story of its history with camel brown, fire red and NATO green, that says this car has travelled around the world, acted as an ambulance (with red paint showing and a white rear differential) but has not seen much use with only 31k miles on the clock which can also be felt when driving, as it still feels very tight and responsive.
The bodywork does have dents all around, but there is nothing major and nothing that cannot be repaired or replaced. However, I see them as battle scars of victory with it now retiring to a much easier and less hostile life.
All the chassis, doors, bulkheads, cross members are rust free! Yes, they may have signs of some surface rust, but with a truck that has never seen any replacement parts, repairs or rust protection, this is in amazing condition. The chassis still has the original VIN number stamped at the front leg which matches the body.
All tires have deep tread, over 10mm easily and everything drives straight and true. No suspension issues anywhere, and all suspension mounts are still holding strong without rust.
The truck was last based in the south of France, where the seller drove it through Europe to the UK to exchange for a newer Defender from a respected historic vehicle dealer, whom I purchased from.
I personally imported this truck to California from the UK to enjoy fun weekend trail experiences, as I have been posted to San Diego to support a UK Defence contract.
However, I failed to completely understand the California laws and after 6mths of trying to register it, I have failed to succeed as the California Air Resource Board (CARB) will not grant any exemptions on grey imports when comes to emissions.
I have all the import paperwork and original UK registration documents necessary to register it any other US state, as the CA DMV has told me that all I needed was an agreement letter by CARB and this would be registered (I have emails to prove). Therefore, the new buyer will have no trouble in registering in a different state.
The best thing is that the truck is in country, in San Diego, in my garage and can be inspected by anyone or I can do a video call to relay in questions or concerns. I also have permission to drive it on the road, but it will only be for short distances.
I have many more images available and have linked some videos below.
