This is an original Hong Kong army truck that I brought to Vancouver from Hong Kong almost three years ago.
It was a scout radio car so was an original LHD unit. I purchased it from a man who bought the entire British army rolling stock. He was slowly selling them off over the years and had intended to keep this one but I got him to sell it to me.
It is a basic stock British Army version. Sliding windows, army door latches and no inner door linings. It has folding rear benches but no seat belts. Sorry, the gun rack is long gone! It is diesel so it has great torque but surprisingly it runs pretty well on the highway in 5th gear. It has a few dents or beauty spots as I like to call them, and a few more would suit it. It is the PERFECT OFF ROADER.
It has a series three roof on it and I had sliding side windows installed to improve, or rather create good visibility for road driving.
The car was certified by a Land Rover specialist in North Vancouver and has had some work done on it including the added windows and a recently rebuilt fuel injector, and a new odometer – it just stopped at around 78,000km’s. It now reads in the hundreds.
The 2.5-litre diesel engine, displacing 2,495 cubic centimetres (152.3 cu in) and producing 68 hp (51 kW), is fitted with fuel injection equipment and a revised cylinder head for quieter, smoother and more efficient running. A timing belt also replaced the older engine's chain. But please don't expect a rattle free experience. This is an army Diesel designed for torque, which it provides in spades.
This is a very simple car to drive and to work on. It is designed for serious off-roading.
I will replace the exhaust system this week so it will all be new. This truck is running beautifully and is a perfect starter every time.
The VIN is listed here for your reference: SALLDVAC8HA904383 as this vehicle was imported from Hong Kong to Canada and eBay for some reason does not recognize imported vehicles.
I am a long time buyer with a perfect record so bid often and with confidence. I recently sold a sports car on eBay for $42,000.
ONLY BID if you intend on buying this truck. Payment within 7 days in full by bank transfer or cash. A $500 paypal deposit is required on the winning bid. Third time lucky!
ANY US BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: See the title document - I have this car registered in BC as a 1990, someone searching found this car listed as a 1991. Please do your own research if you plan on taking it to Canada as I understand that cars must be 25 years + to import to America.
