Description
Hello everyone here for sale is my Defender 90.
I have owned this truck for 4 years and have enjoyed every second that I have spent with it but I have decided to have a change of hobby so I am moving my 90 on. The truck has been incredibly reliable. Always starts first time and runs really well. I would like to just say that my truck has been built to perform off road and not on the tarmac so it doesn’t go around corners like a Lotus and won’t do 100 mph. but it will go through, over and sometimes under whatever you point it at. This truck is ideal for anyone wanting a good solid platform to get started in green laneing or off road events which are the two reasons I bought it originally and I am very glad that I did.
Specification:
Engine:
• 300TDi Discovery ES engine which has done 200K when I fitted it 2 years ago
• cambelt replaced at the same time and given a service.
• New Borg & Beck clutch fitted in January
• Injector pump and turbo have been tweaked to give a bit more power and a turbo boost pressure of 22psi which makes a big difference when you pull away lol!
• Ali sport full width radiator fitted last year brand new which has removed all heating issues that you may expect from a defender when used off road, so well that I haven’t re fitted the fan!
• Ali sport crankcase breather fitted this year brand new.
• Full width intercooler which I am not sure of make as it was on the truck when I purchased it.
Drive train and axles:
• Defender R380 gear box Ashcroft re built which had 1000 miles on the box when I purchased it and I have invoice to prove.
• LT230 transfer box 1:4 ratio in good working order with fully functional hi/lo and diff lock
• X engineering disc hand brake conversion fitted last year.
• 300 tdi discovery rear axle with disc brakes, diff pan guard, 4 pin diff, Ashcroft heavy duty 4.75 ring & pinion.
• 300 tdi front axle with disc brakes, diff pan guard, pegged Ashcroft air locker which has never been plumbed in but I do have the air fittings which came with the locker so you just need an air compressor and your away. Ashcroft heavy duty 4.75 ring & pinion, Ashcroft heavy duty CV joint & half shafts.
• New brake pads all round, stub axles, swivel seals and hub seals last winter.
• New rear GKN prop shaft and new UJ’s in front prop last year. Both props are removed from truck every 2 months and greased, inspected for signs of wear regardless of use.
• 5 insa turbo 285/16 special trac tyres mounted on 5 silver modular steel wheels, all have loads of tread and all have had equal use. Usual cuts and broses as they have been used.
Exterior:
• The usual dents and scrapes are all present as you would expect from an off road truck but surprisingly the paint is very good. The tail gate and truck cab came from a different vehicle to convert from hard top to truck cab and were blue but the previous owner painted over but I have just never worried. Tail gate has a dent but still opens and shuts ok.
• The roll cage is welded to the chassis and is made from seamless scaffolding tube so much stronger than conventional roll cage tube and has proved itself on many occasions compared to more conventional cages.• Built in front & rear winch trays. A TDS winch fitted to the front with a Goodwinch ‘bow 2 motor’.
• A 38 metre 9mm Marlow dynaline max rope. Winch has been used and maintained & the rope has only done 3 pulls and been kept in a dark shed so is still in as new condition. And snatch block (unused) • Spot lights mounted front & rear on cage and all work from individual switches on dash.
• Twin thunder pole CB aerials on top of cage which are both wired in together with proper thunder pole 2 in 1 cable.
• Also comes with Ifor Williams galvanised rear canopy with wire mesh tailgate top. Not shown in photos.
• High lift jack and a pair of waffle boards included.
Interior:
• I have kept the interior very standard with standard seats, floor mats and trim as it is all easier to clean when it gets dirty. Seats are all in good condition and very comfortable for a defender, very good clean roof lining. The spot light and front winch switches are neatly fitted to the centre dash to make it easier to winch and drive which I have found to be very useful.
Bad bits: Now the bad bits which as we all know every 20 year old land rover has. The driver’s side door lock locks fine but won’t unlock so you have to climb in from the passenger side and unlock from inside, so a new door lock may be acquired.
If you wish to talk about the truck further then please don’t hesitate to call me any time on: 07533067157 (if no reply leave me a message and I’ll get back to you) or email me [email protected]
The truck is available by appointment for viewing any time and I am happy to take you for a drive which I strongly recommend as it is the only way to appreciate this truck. I’m in no rush to sell and will not accept silly offers.
Preferred payment is cash on collection or bank transfer. Funds must be fully received before vehicle leaves site.
Thanks for looking - any questions just ask, I don’t bite lol!Cheers Sam
