Description
Landrover Defender 110 County Station Wagon - 200 TDI, Low Miles.
Welcome to this listing for my 92' Defender 110 County Station Wagon with 133,000 genuine miles.A sad day for me but needs must due to a job change and expanding family, I've been a land rover enthusiast for many years but I'm now short of spare time to enjoy it.
The Defender is a genuine 110 County Station Wagon - the logbook reflects this ('estate' body type), this isn't a conversion like some. Its an original 200TDI Defender and has the original engine etc. It will shortly be exportable (first registered June 92).
Engine and chassis numbers are visible and match up with the logbook. It has 8 seats listed on the logbook (it was 11 seats but I got the DVLA to change it which means it can be driven legally on a normal car driving licence). You can change it back to 11 seats should you wish, just bolt the bench seat back in and let the DVLA\insurance know.
Good Bits
Drives excellent, it pulls hard and drives like a land rover should. Its never let me down and it handles British weather with ease.
Diff & Low\High ratio box all ok.
Turbo and engine are excellent, not your usual tired or flogged examples.
Brakes are good especially for an older defender.
Chassis and bulkhead solid.
Rear cross member has been replaced by previous owner.
Tyres are good.
Seats in good condition (front seats are under protective covers but are good).
Since Oct 2014 in my ownership its had the following done :
Full professional diesel injection pump overhaul. This has really improved the power, smoothness and MPG on the landy.
New head gasket (it didn't need doing, I just wanted it doing as I was planning on some expedition driving). All top quality parts used.
Valve stems renewed.
Timing belt kit fitted, top quality Gates Powergrip Kit fitted. While removed water pump and thermostat replaced with new units.
Radiator Replaced, new branded unit installed.
Alternator Replaced, upgraded Lucas 65 Amp unit fitted.
New starter motor installed. Bosch unit installed, not a refurb.
New heavy duty clutch kit installed, with a new heavy duty clutch fork.
Handbrake unit serviced. New expander and springs installed.
New shoes on rear drums.
Regular Service and engine oil changes (using Castrol) oils in axles, gearbox and transfer box replaced.
Timing chest gasket replaced as a minor seep found.
Front cam oil seal replaced as it was seeping.
Power steering and alternator belts renewed.
Rear step installed.
Main instrument pinnacle support replaced with metal Raptor unit, old plastic unit had cracked (common issue).
UJ replacement (rear prop).
Other bits
Its had a paint refresh at some point so it looks rather smart considering its age, however its an old landy, it has rusty bits and bodywork blemishes. Has a dent to the rear (near right hand indicator, it'll prob push out butits a landy), in some places the paint is peeling.
The chassis seems solid enough, it has been repaired in the past and a new rear crossmember fitted by previous owner. Chassis has the usual covering in rust but has been under sealed by a previous owner at some point.
The bulkhead seems solid, there is a small hole above the front drivers foot well, previous owner has blocked it up so it never bothered me, guess it can easily be sorted.
Door bottoms could do with some attention at some point, usual rust issue is taking hold.
Unusually for a land rover its engine isn't leaking. It does have a very minor seep from the gearbox, I haven't had chance to sort it.
Landy is good to use, ideal as it is, or good to use as a rolling project or restoration later down the line. Its almost 25 years old so will soon be exportable.
Passed it last MOT with ease.
It has a Bluetooth head unit installed. Work well with iPhone and Android for phone calls and music streaming. Also works with USB and MP3.
The dog guard will be removed before sale and is not included.
The motorbike carrier on the rear will be removed before sale and is not included, it will come with a standard tow ball hitch.
These are getting harder to find.Plenty of photos available and if you need me to take anymore just get in touch, happy to help.Any inspection welcome and viewing encouraged.
Due to age of landy no warranty given, sold as seen.Cash on collection. No swaps.
Price reflects the fact that I've spent a fortune getting a lot of the age related mechanicals sorted, If it doesn't sell I'll just hold on to it so please no silly offers. Sensible offers considered.
Thanks again, and please contact me if you want further information.
