The Tithonus Defender was a military project to extend the life of the best military Defenders by in excess of 10 years
They spent between £9000 and £12000 on each, all running gear was replaced the rear body was removed allowing the chassis to be inspected and waxoiled,
The standard hoops and canvas were replaced with the latest WOLF spec full roll cage and top this alone was in excess of £2000

Having spent all that money .. you guessed it, they have started to release them, lucky us !!!
If you are looking for one to keep this is it,
I would say REMARKABLE would not be over the top when describing the chassis and bulkhead and crossmembers it is as near to being rot free as is possible to find
Released from the military Last year and is registered and ready to go
The has done around 220000km. I consider it to be genuine as it drives very nicely
This said it has had new Engine and Gearbox when refurbished and has done very little since
Starts instantly(with the help of a new battery)
The tyres are the correct military type and show very little signs of any ware
The Breaks are light and stop evenly
The floors have the extra sound deadening which makes a huge difference.
The interior is the Black cloth exmoor trim which is actually comfortable and in a1 condition !
I have the spare wheel its just not in the pics.

These can be really shockingly noisy
This one is 'Almost ' quiet !! and goes well with very smooth transmission and gears etc
The military maintain these totally regardless of cost
The body is exceptionally straight (please see photos)
It has been recently painted and looks really smart
.The heater is actually hot ! It needs nothing, its ready for work or play
