Defender 110 Tithonus Hard Top (latest Wolf Type) Ex Military Recent New release
Increasingly rare in this stunning condition, Land Rover Tithonus 110, hard top, direct from UK Ministry of Defence
Each Tithonus Land Rover was individually selected and fully refurbished by the MoD in 2007-2008 as part of the British Army LEP (life extension programme).
Each had between £9000 and £15000 spent on them
Bodies were removed everything was replaced where as required, with no corners or costs cut
The project was to extend the overall service life of the Land Rovers by 10 years, from 20 to 30 years. Featuring:
2500cc NAD engine
LT77 5 speed gearbox
Exmoor seats
Michelin XZL tyres
Double fold down rear bench seat
Full size spare wheel
Fully integrated Wolf roll cage including front external and rear internal hoop system (this costs about £3000 to buy retrospectively)
NATO hitch
No Computers, No limp mode just good solid dependable engineering that should last for years

The chassis, bulkhead and cross members are all in truly remarkable good and show no signs of any welding or for that matter needing anyfor a long time to come.
Since being released from the military its done about 400 miles
It starts instantly
The has done around 120000 miles I consider it to be totally genuine as it drives very nicely indeed
with no clunks or vagueness
Sadly you dont get the history generally with ex military stuff

I can get the Chassis and under body Waxoiled for about £175 (I have not got it done as I wanted the buyer to see how good it truly is)
The tyres are all good and are Michelin x type, fitted to the military Wolf spec rims (these are £500 secondhand if bought separately)
The Brakes are light and stop evenly .
Really goes well with very smooth transmission and gears etc
These can be savagely noisy and criminally slow if set up wrongly, This is neither !
The military maintain these totally regardless of cost as I have said
and this has only done a handful of miles since release
I had it serviced which included engine oil and all filters
The body is very straight and I think indented (please refer to pics
It has been recently Resprayed (not brushed) and looks really smart both outside and in
The heater is actually hot ! It needs nothing, its ready for work or play
I operate a handful of ex military land rovers at festivals, events and TV location and prop stuff, including Midsomer Murders and Doctor Who !
This one has been used about 2 or 3 times in the year or so that I have owned it
so therefore it needs to be passed on to someone who is going to use it and enjoy it
It took a long time to find and was way in excess of what I am selling for.
Many of these are released in damaged or non running this was not one of those
I think this one really represents a highly unusual opportunity, Defender production has just stopped prices must have now bottomed out. This is a rare Landy
and must not be confused with a rotten civilian one, she has been completely refurbished
I have registered it as Private Light goods and as a six seater with the DVLA which also makes it LEZ Compliant.
I can happily now get it configured in what ever way you want at cost eg. extra seats front, rear, cubby box or just as it is
