welcome to my auction

her is an auction for my land rover defender TD5 , had this a few months , now selling to buy a fast road car that I can insure , have spent a few quid on this to get it reliable and correct , if your looking at this you will know they are not going to make these after next year so over the next few years these are going to rocket in value , ( I have another one anyway I don't need two )
not many of these 2004 models on ebay !there are 2000 year ones in similar condition reaching this price !
for anyone who does not know the TD5 engine had a problem in the earlier models ( 10p engines) had head locating dowels melting then causing a blown head gasket , this is a 15p engine and has steel dowels so does not suffer from this
the earlier 10p engine also had a problem with head cracking by the injectors causing diesel in the oil , the 15p engine does not suffer with this ( or is very rare ! )

I purchased this off a friend of the family who bought it brand new ,originally I got it to tow my v8 defender to events but now decided to make that one more road legal and drive it instead , here is a list of the work done since I have had it

new wiper motor and worm
new wiper wheel boxes
new injector harness
full service less than a month ago
winch bumper fitted
winch fitted
modified steering guard fitted
diff guards fitted X2 ( front and rear)
new clutch master cylinder
new clutch slave cylinder

GOOD POINTS
5 cylinder turbo diesel
no major work done since new
recently took me 220 miles each way to an event with a caravan ,
did some greenlining and pay and play event , it then took me 220miles back without a single problem !
the above work its had done
its never failed to start or let me down
very rarely gets stuck even with the standard towbar , im surprised at how good offroad this one is
very good at towing , haven't towed much with it but recently towed a 2 ton discovery with no issues , pulled it really well and never struggled for power
BAD POINTS
transfer box needs replacing, it got changed to a discovery version for higher gearing but the replacement is a bad one ! the original transfer box is supplied for refitting !
has a few marks and dents as you would expect but still presentable
winch solinod casing is broken but winch still works also uses a wireless remote
passenger seat base has been replaced with Exmoor trim one but is not the correct type or colour
tailgate is dented and rusty it needs replacing

has long MOT and tax till November I think

any genuine buyers will call before buying !
vehicle must be viewed before sale , if not viewed and you purchase you are still bound to buy !
