Description

land Rover Discovery 2002 model "S" spec for sale. 4 litre V8 with 5 speed manual, as basic as a D2 you'll get!!
Bought this about 3 months ago to try and get it registered, got a fair bit done but due to work commitments and lack of motivation I am now selling this. The previous owner had sunk a lot of money into this D2 replacing hoses, radiator, had the front DC shaft fitted with greaseable uni joints (common failure on a D2), new Pedders suspension kit plus other stuff I can't recall at the moment. Since I have owned it I replaced the brake rotors and discs (pads were getting low plus the front rotors had seen better days, fixed a 'clunk' in the rear suspension (was a rear trailing arm bush that was worn as well as the arm itself wouldn't hold the bush so the arm was worn), got thw wipers working 9they didn't work when I bought it) and fitted a set of P38 Rangie alloys with new wheel nuts and centre caps (caps not fitted in pic but have them).
For a roadworthy to pass, will need a pair of tyres (two are okay, the other 2 are not) and a wheel alignment.
Interior is good, the drivers seat has some cracks on the vinyl part on the door side, seats are not threadbare and in good condition (I've seen D2's for more money worth worn drivers seats). The hood lining has been redone, looks to have used a HD fabric which won't sag unlike the cloth LR original!! I also have a set of seat covers that will go with it (brand new never been fitted).
Exterior is good, the drivers side front wing has a dent, the rear guards have some stone chips from gravel road driving. Rear bumper has some broken plastic on the top (see pic). For the price and age it's pretty good overall.
As far as mechanical side of things, runs and drives well. Dove it back for nearly 100 kms without any headaches, didn't get hot or any erratic cooling. gearbox is good for age and kms, clutch is also good with plenty of life left in it. The ETC all works, no dodgy 'three amigos' on the dash to report of. There's some service history and also includes the original purchase receipt from Trinity Land Rover in Cairns QLD. The vehicle has been used for 'touring' not bush bashing so the previous owner has looked after it.
Selling for a low price, D2's are getting cheaper and I can sell this vehicle with confidence that the next owner will get a few years out of it. I have put a realistic price due to the fact I will be selling it with no rego or a road worthy certificate.
Buy it now price is fair, not interested in offers. Paypal will be accepted to prior arrangement otherwise pay on pickup.
The vehicle is located out on Snake Valley VIC (25 kms west of Ballarat). I have tried to be as honest as possible in describing the vehicle but if there's any questions or you want to come out and have a look at it please feel free. I won't be available on weekdays but there's someone here at the hose most of the time so a time can be arranged.
