Description

Welcome to the auction of my really tidy Land Rover Discovery 300 Tdi Auto XS in gun metal grey with 7 seats.
I am only selling it as I genuinely don't have the time with a 3 year old to enjoy this hobby. Its a spare vehicle and is just sitting on the drive which is a little wasteful!
She had a month or so left on the MOT but I wanted to refresh this for the new owner and so decided to put her through a new one She passed with NO ADVISORIES!
So here she is for sale. She is really tidy as Discos go. The rear arches have been done and the boot floor is solid. There is a little catatonic fusion here and there where steel meets aluminium but overall she isn't your usual saggy, rusty, smokey example! In fact she drives, pulls and handles really well and produces no smoke! The auto box feels smooth and the engine has no funny noises.
The story with this Landy is that a chap spent a lot of time and money preparing it for an overland trip to Moroco (he then fell ill so didn't go so sold it). During this revamp she received the following that I am aware of:
- A new set of 5 Cooper ST A/T tires (nice size) along with black steel modular wheels.
- A decent Airflow snorkel with expensive carbon filter which was fitted and sealed properly.
- A steel front bumper was fitted with space for a winch.
- A full set of genuine Land Rover heavy duty shocks were fitted all around (handles and sits lovely with this along with Cooper tires)
- A donor engine from another Landy (same spec 300 tdi) with only 80k on it (142 on clock) properly fitted with receipts and donor vehicle docs
- Rear windows tinted
She is a 7 seater, is HPI clear and has a CD player with Aux fitted and all working.
The XS trim includes external plastics and arches as well as really nice interior which can be seen in the pictures (all in very good condition).
I recently serviced her with decent parts and oil (some left and will come with it) and she is starting and running sweet. The twin sunroofs have been sealed up before any leaks by a previous owner which is common. I wanted them to work however and so bough another pair of used sun roofs in good condition which are waiting to be fitted. I also have the standard bumper and bought a set of genuine used Land Rover roof bars (the ones they came with but are always missing). All of these items will come with her if she goes for a fair price. Oh and she has a dog guard fitted (no evidence of a dog though!)
There is a tow bar with electrics but I've never had the need to use it so cant promise it all works but I see no reason why it wouldn't.
Bad bits:
No nasties really but I would highlight the following. Please view BEFORE making an offer to satisfy yourself with her condition though:
- Catatonic fusion here and there. Not bad really except for rear lower wings where steel mudguard brackets attach. If I was keeping it I would sort this with a new pair of HD brackets and guards (£70) which comes with a plate that covers most of the bits in the pic.
- Sun roofs sealed as explained above.
- Central locking solenoid in drivers door making a noise. Still all works and has just started happening. A new one can be bought for less than £15 (maplin) which I am told will solve this issue.
- The rear offside passenger door handle needs to be pulled several times to open the door sometimes. I have the clip to fix this (the lock thingy drops and a new retention clip is needed which is the one I have).
- Air con doesnt work. Probably needs a refill.
- Cruise stopped working a month or so ago. I think ive found the problem (slight split in hose which is common) but havnt had time to sort it.
- The tinting is ok but not the best job in the world being honest.
I am a genuine bloke and welcome similar minded buyers. I will bend over backwards to help genuine people but have an intolerance for messers or would be scammers!
The Landy is located 5 minutes away from the English side of the old Severn Bridge (South Gloucestershire - Bristol). Viewings and inspections are very welcome!
I have probably forgotten loads so please contact me with any questions. I will reply quickly. You can either message me through ebay or my mobile number is 07475 595595. I havnt always got my phone whilst at work but check it throughout the day.
Sale terms are cash on collection only within 3 days of your offer being accepted. I have advertised her elsewhere and so reserve the right to remove this listing if she goes.
I am not desperate to sell this Landy as it is a spare car. If you have spent any time looking at these you will know how hard a tidy one is to come by and this one is very tidy indeed with years of service left as well as being the XS trim. I am open to sensible offers but please don't send me a "I'll give you £1500 cash text as it wont be successful!
Anyway, here she is for sale and please contact me with any questions or sensible offers.
Cheers,
Lloyd
