COMMENT: Not used offroad never been modified by prior owners/ city car. Purchased it a while ago for long distance traveling employment and has been extremely reliable. ***This does not suit a perfectionist or a dealer. Having said that I hope someone will cherish it rather than run into the ground. Suit a sympathetic enthusiast.***
*Perfect for adventure, long drives or heavy towing (Boats/ race cars). Can take legal 4TON tow bar with a Hayman etc upgraded hitch. The V8 makes excellent power.
*Mp3 USB Ipod radio
*Cloth interior is exceptional for its age. Purchased it from a woman who used it on the highway again driving long distance. These are very comfortable and reasonably quiet on the highway.
*Factory alloy wheels with correct alloy wheel nuts. Front tyres deep tread, rears are just ok.
*LR factory side steps. Rare and very expensive new.
*Rear gas step for accessing the rear. This works perfectly.
*Body appears accident free with only a few dents/ marks over the body. Bumpers etc are straight. Good panel gaps.
*Lower than expected wear for the average klms.
*Mostly aluminum with steel chassis/ body shell.
* Recent major service with new water pump, new fuel pump, motor filter, auto filter, fuel filter, motor oil, auto gearbox oil, transfer case oil replaced. Diff oils not changed. Injector cleaner used before fuel system was replaced. Brakes are at roughly 40%.
*ONE KEY WITH TWO REMOTES
Faults PLEASE READ HIGHLY IMPORTANT TO BE INFORMED - Being 100% upfront
- At around 100k's there is some wheel vibration. New tyres or prop balancing will fix this.
- Drivers seat foam has gone soft. Replacement cushions/ diaphragms are available. Some interior plastics are missing, removed by previous owners for no obvious reason?
- Oil leaks from several seals most obviously steering box & transfer case output. Only the steering box/ high pressure hoses leak noticeably. I will supply a used steering box at no charge - about 1hr to fit.
- The old viscous cooling fan is not sufficient on hot days in traffic. Replacements are cheap/ inexpensive. I don't live near traffic/ spend most time in the bush hence didn't bother me.
-Roof paint has peeled.
-Headlight wobbles on bumpy roads. Plastic clips have aged. Can be obtained new from UK.
-Dash alternator light flashes sometimes. Alternator reads between 13v & 14v and keeps battery charged up.
-Doors around the top frame have small corrosion from aluminum/ steel contact, small paint bubbles on the aluminum.
-Can run rough on hot days stopped in heavy traffic. Suspect the MAF needs replacing. This can also make it harder to start on hot days but cranking w/ pedal to floor starts it quickly.
- Rear 5th door handle won't open from outside. Needs new lock cam/ mechanism. I open it from inside the car.
- A/c needs regas.
- Interior will need a good clean. Headlining has some niks & stains.
