1998 3.9 V8 Discovery 1 S Reg 5 Door Manual

Metallic light blue, MOT till 26th Feb 2016, Taxed but not able to be transferred due to new vehicle tax rules.

Here is for sale my Discovery 1 off roader. It is a 1998 model so one of the last of the series 1 vehicles off the production line. My truck has been highly modified for off road use, and is fitted with a lot of off road accessories. I am selling as a drive away vehicle, but will require further work for the next MOT but most of the parts are included. The vehicle is worth more in parts but I have not got the time or space to break the vehicle.

Please look carefully at the pictures, this is an off road truck and has been driven off road, so there are dents and scrapes on it – so the paintwork and headlining is not in showroom condition.

The off road parts that have been fitted are:

Tubular winch bumper with a Britpart DB1200i winch fitted with steel cable and the wired remote control, 265/75/16 BF Goodrich all terrains fitted to alloy wheels with a matching spare wheel on the back, extended wheel arches and wheel spaces. It is lifted 2” on heavy duty Britpart yellow springs, with Cellular dynamics +2” extended orange shocks, extended stainless steel brake hoses, extended polyurethane bump stops on the rear and standard on the front, Terrafirma skeleton front turrets with caster corrected trailing and radius arms front and rear on polyurethane bushes, rear dislocation cones, rear JATE rings, heavy duty steel sills with tree sliders, rear heavy duty bumper, tank guard, steering guard, adjustable panhard rod, safari snorkel and front diff guard.

Further modifications that also have been made are 200tdi style rear lights, rear cubby seats removed, rear doughnut removed and 200tdi rear prop fitted, rear anti roll bar removed, tubular manifolds, coil and ignition amplifier relocated to the bulkhead and room for second battery to be added at the front which is included but not fitted, performance air filter installed, Alternator upgraded to 120 amp, alarm turned off and unplugged and immobiliser spider fitted. Air conditioning has been removed and the twin sunroofs have been sealed.

There are a few bits that will need to be sorted for the next MOT - Hole in rear arch on passenger’s side, speedo has stopped working – new transducer included, heater blower has stopped working – second hand motor included, ABS light on in dash – New ABS sensors included, radio not working and tyres are past their best.

There is only 1 key and no remote fob. The other bits that are not working properly are the electric seats – move forward and backwards only, rear electric windows, front heated screen and cruise control.

Fluids and filters changed last year and covered approx. 2,000 miles since. New parts that have been fitted include spark plugs, HT leads, rotor arm, distributor cap, rear pads, reconditioned rear diff, front wheel bearing, thermostat, water pump, viscos fan, serpentine belt, tensioner, alternator, steering shaft including uj’s and rear silencer. Some spares are included as well.
