Description

I work for an Independent Jaguar Specialist who have taken this car in part exchange. Due to its make and mileage it doesnot fit our stock profile and so I offer it for sale by auction on a sold as seen basis.
The car is a 2004/54 Land Rover Discovery TD5 Auto Landmark edition in Pale Metallic (Giverny) Green with Black Leather. The
odometer shows 131,500 miles and it has an MOT running until 20 Nov 2016. The service booklet shows 11 stamps in the
book, 10 by Land Rover and one by an Independent Garage. The last service was completed by Harwoods Land Rover
on 12th Nov 2015 at 128,307 miles. The last owner was a local gentleman who was using the car daily before bringing
it in to us as a part exchange. He was upgrading to another Discovery with less miles.
The car is HPI clear, comes with a full bookpack and 2 keys.
The Landmark was a special edition Discovery but I do not know what particular specification it has different to a standard model.
This car has full leather, 7 seats, Aircon (nice and cold), Electric windows & mirrors. It also has a fixed towbar and a dog guard fitted.
The Alloys are 18" front tyres have 2-3mm tread, the rears have 4-5mm tread.
Generally speaking the car is in good overall condition for its age and mileage. The engine pulls strongly and the gearchanges are
normally smooth. There is however an intermittent fault which appears some of the time and not others. There are 2 warning
lights that appear on the dash, one is the sport mode light and with it appears the manual mode light. On reading the handbook,
it says that "this indicates an electrical fault with the gearbox" and it makes the car feel a bit sluggish through the gears, although
it seems to remain still driveable. I have had the fault codes read by a Land Rover computer and the fault is coming up as the
gearbox solenoid switch. This is an electrical part that bolts on to the side of the gearbox. I am told that it is quite easy to replace.
The part costs approx £350 new from Land Rover or about £175 second hand.
Cosmetically the car is in pretty good shape for its mileage. There are no major Scrapes or dents but there are some small dents
and marks as you would expect. The interior needs a good clean but there does not seem to be any rips or tears in the leather.
I list this car with NO RESERVE and a low starting price (over £1000 below CAP trade value) so that you know your bid will
count. I have endeavoured to describe the car as honestly as possible - please see my feedback for references - but any viewing
prior to bidding is welcomed. Please call Will on 01798 874477 during office hours if you would like to arrange to view or if
you have any questions. The car is located at RH20 1BQ.
