Description
Discovery 1 XS
1998
300TDI
Auto
150,000 miles on the body
Engine is at around 70-80k miles. I have the V5 document of the donor vehicle (Another 300tdi XS auto).
MOT is due July 24th 2016. No advisories on the last.
The arches and boot floor have been welded up by the previous owner, there is no major rust problem that I have found (apart from the mud flap brackets).
Tyres are all good, Cooper AT3s, 245/70R16. Plenty of tread left and a completely unused spare.
Genuine HD springs and BOGE gas shocks as well as new ARB bushes
The inside is in really good condition, it has a pioneer stereo and it is very comfortable to drive. I was using it as my daily driver doing 100+ miles each day and didn't have a single problem with it. The seats are all in pretty good order. The speakers are alright, but not amazing.
It has a built in dog guard (not shown in pictures)
The bad points:
-It will need front brake pads soon, they make a noise when cold.
-A very intermittent throttle issue where the pedal doesn't seem to engage when there is only a small amount of pressure. As it doesn't happen often enough it has been hard to troubleshoot but I suspect it is a sensor somewhere. It doesn't cause much of a problem and happens only rarely.
-The snorkel isn't a genuine Safari. The piping is made by Airflow.
-The paintwork isn't great. The dotty decals along the skirt is could do with being removed or replaced, and it has somes small dents and scrapes.
-Aircon and cruise control don't work.
All in all it is a great Land Rover with the work already done that these need to keep going. I'm sure there is a load of stuff I have missed off, and I can honestly say I would keep this as a second car if I had the funds and space, however I need a car more suited to the city. Please come and view it in the evening or a weekend, just let me know on here and we can sort a time out. Also, feel free to ask any questions, I should be able to respond throughout the day and definitely during the evening. I'm still using this as my daily vehichle so the mileage will be going up up.
Offers will be considered. Cash on collection
