Description
2002 Land Rover Range Rover - Rare "Westminster" Edition. Condition is "Used"
Vehicle does not currently run. Selling as-is (for repair) or as parts car. Must pick-up in Las Cruces, NM (bring a trailer).
I am the second owner of this vehicle (purchased in 2014). It has lived in Southern CA it's whole life.
What happened: Late June - the engine overheated on I-10 in New Mexico while stuck in a traffic jam in blistering 120 degree weather. A/C struggled while the car wasn't moving and caused the overheating. Towed the vehicle to a nearby garage - great, knowledgeable guys it turns out. After diagnostics, they said two of the cylinders are not getting enough pressure, and though the engine turns over, it won't start. Also was told that heat from the engine melted part of the fuel line.
These very real problems aside, the vehicle is otherwise in very good shape. Carefully maintained at Absolute on Hoover in Los Angeles by the owner/mechanic who drives the same model.
Westminster edition is all black, with fine leather seats and piano black wood trim. Very beautiful. Only 300 were made in this last year of the P38A model.
Natural wear and tear, dings and scrapes, on exterior. Broken headlight wiper. Cracked rear bumper. Cracked tail light. No rust. No accidents. California vehicle, never driven through water. Interior is very clean. Heating disconnected. A/C was working great, not sure any more. Air suspension was replaced with springs before I got the vehicle.
Many of the photos you see in this listing were taken at the shop where it currently sits in New Mexico, after the incident described above. Car was obviously not cleaned as it was on a road trip. Trunk is clean, didn't get a photo, can get any photos if interested.
My wife and I have loved this RR and it is very hard to accept what happened and move on Hoping someone can create some kind of new life for it.
