Description
Range Rover Classic 1987 Diesel 2.5 Litre 300Tdi 5 Speed
manual.
This early four door Range rover has been fitted with the excellent Land Rover 300tdi engine (also fitted as standard to the later classics)
It starts perfectly and runs like dream and returns approx 30 mpg with ease.
It has recently had a full service including all oils and filters.
New cam belt kit, using a quality (Delphi) parts.
New clutch kit, again using the genuine Borg & Beck parts.
Gearbox is the 5 speed manual R380 coupled to the LT230 transfer box. It does crunch going into 2nd sometimes if you change too quickly, a common glitch on these gearboxes.
Brakes, suspension and steering all in good working order. Dampers and various bushes replaced about two years ago.
Chassis in good solid condition and injected with waxoyl to prevent corrosion.
Bodyshell is also solid, it has had welding repairs carried out a couple of years ago, including a new rear crossmember, wheel arch repairs and boot floor repairs. All the underside and box sections have had copious amounts of waxoyl to protect and prevent any further corrosion.
Exterior body is finished in its original colour – Savannah Beige, it is good for the vehicles age, but not by any means perfect, there are various chips, scratches and corrosion bubbles in areas.
Interior is good and very original, very slight wear on the drivers seat, headlining replaced earlier this year. No sunroof – so no leaks to worry about! Dashboard is nice and original with no extra holes or gauges fitted.
Radio/ CD player
Electrics all working fine.
Matching Cooper A/T 235/70/16 tyres all round with plenty of tread (appox 8mm) fitted on Discovery alloys. I do have a set of original style 3 spoke alloys which are included if required. They would benefit from refurbishment before fitting.
Mot expires 23rd June 2016, no advisories on the last test.
Mileage is only 84,513.
