Description
For sale is my 2002 Black Range Rover Vogue.
This is an original Vogue that has done me well over the last 12 months. The only reason im selling is because i want to upgrade to a newer range rover. I have owned the car for the last 14 months or so.
The Vogue has a few bells and whistles over the standard HSE - for me the biggest plus is a better stereo unit (sound quality) that includes inbuilt GPS navigation (which I have the latest maps for)
Stereo works perfectly without any issues, and the LCD odometer display also works perfectly (very common to lose pixels on these displays)
The car has about 4.5 months rego left, and will come with a valid RWC.
The car has approximately 193000 km's on the clock and runs nice and smooth. It has service history up to 165,000kms in 2012.
It has a 4.4L V8 Petrol engine.
The air suspension works perfectly and has recently had a new compressor motor installed (by me)
I have added a reverse camera to the car. If you have kids this is a must!. It also makes reversing up to a trailer a whole lot eaiser!
It has TV's in the rear seats. At the moment they dont work as the AV cotroller is busted (from what I can tell). The screens thenselves actually work as i have hooked an RCA signal directly to them and they work fine.
It has a DVD player in the rear for the AV setup.
The car has a Tekonsha P3 electronic brake controller, with 12V running to an Anderson plug at the rear for air / hydraulic brakes. The Anderson plug is hooked up through an independant 20 AMP circuit breaker
Mechnically the car is in very good condition.
When i bought it, it had an extremely loose timing chain, which required immediate replacement. As a result i changed all the below parts. For those of you that know anything about these M62TU44B motors, timing chains / guides are a big issue. To have them done so recently means you dont need to worry about them at all for a very long time.
I did all the work myself. No I am not a qualified mechanic. I am 41 years old and have been restoring cars / rebuilding engines since i was 16. It's a hobby.
Main timing Chain replaced
Cam chains replaced (both sides)
All three timing chain guides replaced
Sump gasket replaced
Chain tensioner replaced
Timing case gaskets replaced
Both Vanos oil seals
Both Vanos carbon seals
All four Cam bolts
Rocker cover gaskets
Spark Plug valley gaskets
The motor / gearbox have no oil leaks.
The car's exterior is acceptable, and presentable. At some point is must have had an accident on the front right. Whilst the repair is solid, and the color match is fine, the paint has a slightly different texture (a little more peel - for those in the know!). There are hairline scrathes in the paint consistent with a car of this age (and black paint!). I would suggest that with a good cut and polish, these scrathes will be gone, and it would come up looking excellent.
Whats else is wrong with the car?
It has three holes in the dash where the previous owner screwed in a mobile phone holderThe roof lining is sagging (not enough to interfere with anyone in the car)The Paint in the rear compartment boot section of the car is a bit scratched and flaky (pretty consistent with these cars)It has no fault codes coming up, and no electrical gremlins that ive realised.
PLEASE NOTE: Im not into wasting people's time. I try to be as honest as i can. In return i expect people not to waste my time. THis is an auction. The premise of an auction is that the sale is final. You are NOT bidding to inspect. You are bidding to BUY. Im happy for you to come and look at the car prior to auction end.
If you are interstate, I am more than happy to provide you with whatever additional photos / videos that you need. My theory is that when you get the car, there should be no surprises.
If you have a feedback of 5 or less, I would like you to please contact me before bidding. If you bid first without contacting me, i'll simply cancel the bid. Sorry - i know that sounds hardass..but ive had too much of my time wasted by tyre kickers.
If you are looking for a cheaper L322 Raqnge Rover, please check my other listing. I have another one for sale with higher KM's and slightly worse condition (still a great car though!)
I think thats about it!. If i think of anything else, ill add it to this listing.
