Description

Up for sale is my 1975 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. The car is all original and not a restoration. The interior is still in what I would consider near showroom condition. The car has low original miles and shows an odometer reading of 56,440. The exterior is blue and the interior is also blue.
I found this car stored in a garage. I believe it had been there since 1987 since that was the last time it was inspected according to the windshield sticker shown in the pictures.
The car runs and drives but i have not placed it on the road for use. It should be gone through a little more before daily driving as its been in storage for 34 years. I did see some dry rot on the inside of the front passenger side tire side wall. The Power headlight covers work. The antenna goes up and down. The blowers work for the temperature control although i haven't tested the heat / air conditioning. I would just plan on recharging the ac system . The power seats still move . The electric mirrors still work. The radio does not come on for some reason and i haven't messed with it . The radio is original though. The power door locks unlock when you push the button but do not seem to lock , I think it could be the switch but I haven't tried to fix it. The trunk opens with the oem power push button in the glove box. The clock ticks still which is really cool. I believe the original spare tire is in the trunk still . It has the original anti theft spare tire lock clasp on it still. The jack and tire iron are still in the car. The Car interior is in amazing shape. The headliner looks perfect. The dash pad has no cracks. The seats ,carpet, door panels etc look great. There is a small spot on the steering wheel where the wood grain inlay sticker is starting to peel up . The Luxury options in this car really took me by suprise for being a classic 1975 . The car has disc brakes all around, power steering , reading lamps in the interior , a anti theft oem lock on the hood pull and it still locks.
The vinyl top looks to be in great shape . I didn't see any big issues of concern.
The paint Is ORIGINAL !! It has a good luster still . There is patina on the paint which i think makes it even better showcasing the time capsule this lincoln is. There are some stone chips , scratches , and some surface rust. There was dried mud on the front fender heels when i found the car and from being stored i think it made the fender heels start to rust some. I have shown this in the pictures. The passenger side has more. The drivers side can almost be missed when you look at it. I could have had this fixed for a fairly cheap price but decided not to . I wanted to offer this car as close to original as possible and having the new owner knowing exactly what quality work was done if they choose to repair it . I think the big take away is that the bondo monster and inexperienced do it yourselfer has seemingly never laid hands on this car !
The car has just about 99% all of the oem factory original parts on it still . The exhaust mufflers are still original with the ford stamp showing . The exhaust piping does have a few small pin holes but its original and i was not going to replace it. The only big exception is the Radiator has been replaced. The original one has a delamination in one of the top brass cores. I was told it could be fixed but the radiator repair shop i trusted has gone out of business . I will include the original oem radiator with the car if you want it so you can have it repaired if you so wish . The fan cover etc is still original and uncut.
The frame is solid with no issues and some surface rust. I believe this car was undercoated when it was brand new and the undercoating is still in good shape on the underside of the floor boards, inner fenders , behind the gas door etc. The undercoating on the frame is still there in spots but it had been flaking and mostly came off when i washed the underside . There is a ziebart sticker inside of the glove box and there are the vintage ziebart plugs on the rockers . In my opinion this is a pretty cool touch to add to the history of the car and I would without a doubt say that it helped preserve the condition of the car.
It has a 460ci V8 engine and automatic transmission. I did have the engine oil and filter changed. I have had it running multiple times and the oil still looks like new on the dipstick since the oil change was done. I have not changed the spark plugs , spark wires, points or anything like that so it probably could use a tune up. Again i didn't want to mess with the car and take away from the original condition i found it in . I figured the new owner would be able to get that satisfaction and peace of mind knowing they had taken care of it themselves.
I'm sure there is stuff i'm forgetting to mention and will add to the listing description if i think of anything else. This is a rare find and I'm hoping that someone who truly appreciates these old Lincolns will end up buying this car. If you would like more pictures feel free to message me. Please ask all questions before you purchase the car. Please only bid if you are serious . This car is being sold in as is condition I would encourage you to set up an appointment and look at the car in person before you purchase. Please remember this car is in great shape for its age it is however a 34 year old car and it needs a little tinkering here and there. I've tried to explain its condition in detail as best and accurately as I can. I expect a easy hassle free transaction and prompt pickup of this vehicle.
