Description
1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible
Clean title and current California registration
Have owned it for 4 years It runs well, shifts smooth and the owner before me put roughly $5,000 plus into the motor before I purchased it from him. It’s a great Sunday driver and only drove around town but mostly sat covered in a garage.
The headlights, tail lights, running lights, blinkers/ hazards and interior lights work.
31k miles on odometer. Appears to be original and not rolled over due to the cars condition but I don’t know for sure.
462 big block / 4 barrel carb
Body is solid, straight and has no rust
Flat black paint job
Undercarriage is good with normal wear and tear and superficial surface rust here and there
Chrome trim and hardware (handles, locks, left side mirror, grille, Lincoln emblem painted black on black)
Interior is black leather in great condition
Seat belts (front and back)
Black carpet is new
Front seats are electric bucket seats (rare and sought after option). Note: Good used bucket seat for 60’s Lincolns run $2,500 to $4,500). non operational currently. Believe it’s the seat switch. Have replacement rebuilt switches purchased and being shipped to me currently.
22in black wheels (Red Sport) in great condition. Tire tread like new
Suicide doors with all hardware and operational (opens, closes and locks)
New battery
Car looks great and drives really nice but I just wanted to note a few things that will need some attention to get this Lincoln convertible to the next level:
Mechanical
-Air conditioner needs to be serviced to become operational. Never used it due to the top always being down.
Electric
-Windows are currently not operational. All windows, motors, switches and components are all there but I believe it’s a simple fix with some relay switches.
-The previous owner said the top is there but not operational. The hydraulic pumps for the convertible top work but they are purposely not hooked up. Haven’t had the time and or expertise to be able to address tackling the few issues noted above. I have vendors in CA and other areas of the country that can assist with trouble shooting and supply the exact parts that might be needed. Once these few electrical components get some attention, this will be a super nice restored 66 Lincoln ContinentalConvertible. These cars values have been increasing year after year.
Note: This Lincoln is being listed for a customer. Lincoln is located in Modesto, CA.
