Description
The 1941 Lincoln Continental Coupe is one of the most beautiful cars ever produced. Designed by E.T. Gregorie, Jr.,Edsel Ford arranged for the production of this pre-war Lincoln Continental for his wealthy Florida friends. It caught the
eye of many who became owners, including Pablo Picasso. Frank Lloyd Wright described it as "the
most beautiful car in the world." John Steinbeck stated: "No other car so satisfied my soul." The Classic Car Club of America
recognizes this model as a "Full Classic." Lincoln produced 850 of these coupes in 1941 before production ceased with the
attack on Pearl Harbor. Sonny Corleone drove this model on his fateful visit to the toll plaza in The Godfather.
This particular 1941 Coupe has chassis number H57109, and has spent the past two years in Sacramento, California. The date plate
stamped body number reads: 16H-57-109. I acquired it from a caring owner in Indiana.
Other than seat belts, it has not been modified, and has the stock V-12, 120 horsepower engine. It is in very good
condition, for a car that is now seventy-four years old. The transmission appears to have the overdrive solenoid, but I have not
confirmed its operation.
The exterior is complete and shows only some minor surface rust. All windows have good glass. The interior is finished in
dark blue leather with whipcord inserts. The radio illuminates, but does not otherwise work. The gas gauge needs work.
Actual mileage unknown. Overall condition is very good.
The motor starts nicely, thanks to the new Optima 6-volt battery recently acquired. Please note that the photos do not show the
new battery.
Fuel pump was just rebuilt, as it had started to leak. Car has been driven recently, and drives fine.
Coil, a set of points and a condenser go with this '41. California title is not branded, i.e., no salvage title.
Given the age of this car, it is sold As-Is, with no warranty. Pre-purchase inspections are welcome. Please call Ken with any
questions prior to bidding, at 916.295.9081. Car is located outside of Sacramento, California.
Buyer pays all shipping costs, taxes and any applicable other costs. California buyers pay state sales tax.
Successful bidder to send non-refundable deposit of $2,000.00 by Paypal within two business days after auction closes. Balance preferred by wire transfer,
and to be sent within seven business days after auction closes. This car is also being listed locally and is thus subject to prior sale.
Enjoy your opportunity to drive and own this classic and distinct item of automobile history.
