Description
I bought this car in 2011 from an estate with 112,000 miles. It was bought new in Hayward, California and then spent half its life in Beebe, Arkansas. Original paperwork and full set of shop manuals in original box delivered to original owner is in the trunk.Vehicle had clean panels with a slight scrape on passenger fender. The four high points of front fenders and rear quarters have wear marks in paint from being kept under a cover for its entire life with original owners. In 2013 had the gas tank cleaned and rust treatment coated as well as a new fuel pump and water pump. Everything worked but would need an R12 freon charge for A/C.
In 2013 placed in temporary storage in my old tobacco barn with several other vehicles. Barn was not in great condition. Planks missing and trees growing thru side. Did not plan on long term storage but you know what happens to the best laid plans. In 2015 an ice storm took part of the roof and leaned the building. The vehicles were finally removed from the structure in 2017 so as to demolish this barn and then placed in the new structure.
None of the vehicles received major damage. The Lincoln was covered in Hackleberry tree sap. See pictures (2011) when purchased then after removal from barn (2017) and after approximately 70% cleanup (1/2018) Still needs cleanup but no real body damage. Very clean undercarriage. Clean interior - door pulls have some light cracking. Couple small stars in lower passenger windshield out of the field of vision. Paint and chrome have slight oxidation from being in the elements.
I was able to replace battery and add gas to carb to start vehicle in 2017 when moved to new home. Have not bothered with any of the vehicles since 1/2018. Just decided to sell all vehicles. Batteries are all dead again for lack of use. It will have to be towed from my property cause tires are 20-45 years old. One is the original spare and without a proper going thru of all systems, I doubt you should contemplate a 1000 mile road trip home.
