TWO OWNER, LOW MILE VANCOUVER CAR
RARE WHITE COLLECTORS SERIES
1979 LINCOLN MARK V COLLECTORS SERIES
HIGHLY DESIRABLE MODEL! Elliston H. Bell Founders Trophy For most outstanding senior Lincoln 2014 32,784 original miles 54,423 original kilometers
This wonderful 1979 Collectors series Mark V was sold new in Surrey, B.C., Canada at Dams Lincoln Mercury. Originally Factory ordered by Fritz J Reber it was retained by the family until his passing then purchased by myself the second owner. The car was pampered and kept in a humidity controlled garage. The car retained its original Michelin tires and had only 26,000km’s (15,662.6 miles) on the odometer.
This car retains all its original paint and vinyl roof even the stitching is still perfect. The interior is as it was when it left the factory and has no sun fade or staining. It looks as fresh as when it left the factory. The felting around the sunroof still looks like it was just installed. The car has always been dealer serviced by the original dealer who sold the car Dams Lincoln of Surrey, B.C. interesting enough, when I bought the car I took it in there for service and was advised it was due for its 30,000km (18,000mile) service! At that time I had all the systems completely flushed new coolant, had the transmission switched to MercronV synthetic had the diff flushed and upgraded to synthetic and had all systems including the brakes flushed too. After all it had no miles on it but thirty years of storage requires service too. Since that time all I have done to it is regular maintenance and yearly checks. I do drive the car on occasion mostly to car shows and events. The car is a active member of the Lincoln Continental Owners Club of North America (LCOC) and also a member of the Pacific North West Lincoln Continental Owners Club. Currently the car holds the Elliston H. Bell Founders Trophy for most outstanding senior Lincoln 2014. This trophy is the highest honor paid to Lincoln automobiles at showings it is the best in show trophy. Meaning simply it beat every other car at the show. A very big honor and speaks volumes for the condition of this vehicle considering I do drive it not trailer it.
The car also has the Ford Motor Company Lincoln Best Primary Division Trophy for 1972-1979 Mark IV-V cars. These are the two top awards that Lincolns can get at LCOC events they are not easy to attain and usually take many years to attain. This car did it in two!
The car is 100% original and is accident free. The car is kept in show quality and has the complete factory tool kit and umbrella with it. This particular car also has the original factory wheels with the factory Michelins still mounted on them complete with Ford factory wheel weights. I only put these wheels on for shows even though they look wonderful (pictures shown). I drive on another set of turbines with Yokahama P225/75R15 white walls wonderful driving tires very much like the originals for ride and comfort maybe have 10,000k on them.
This particular Collectors series has the mono chrome scheme to it meaning it does not have the gold belt line as many of the white ones did. I mention this as it comes up at shows and in judging, to make it clear the white units could be equipped either way, it was customer choice. Or so that’s the official LCOC line anyways, the other thought was that as Ford used up the stock on the gold accents (carried over from the Diamond Jubilee edition) they simply switched to the mono chrome that they still had in stock. Either way I prefer the way this one looks and yes it is original.
As I mentioned the car is show original right down to the wiper blades and the spark plug wires dated 1979. There are also the two sets of un cut wood insert blanks, the factory umbrella, factory 8 track for the digital quad system, factory tool kit with replacement factory correct flares, Collectors Series leather wrapped owners book, manual original owners dealer id card for warranty service and two sets of regular Lincoln cut keys for door and trunk.
