Description
The Lincoln Cosmopolitan was the first Post-War Lincoln offering. The full-size sedan was sold from 1949 through the early 1950's, featuring "aerodynamic" design (including the hood ornament!), and rear suicide doors.
This car was restored in the 1990's in California (documentation included) and was acquired by the present owner in late 2007, with another $10,000+ spent on the car since. The latter included new heads, dual exhausts, a rebuilt fuel pump and carburator, new tires, new battery, and transmission service. The fuel tank was also cleaned and relined. Overall- a very nice driver that is ready to go and unlikely to meet itself on the road, as these were limited production cars that have had a low survival rate.
I'm selling because I have not driven the car as much as I should- this was the least driven out of our 20-car collection for the last couple of years, and I would like it to move on and create room for a new acquisition..
The car can be seen at our storage facility in Angola, IN, call Mike (owner) at 260-687-9052, or Tim (mechanic) at 260-316-2170.with questions or to set up a test drive..
