Description
1995 Lotus Esprit S4s
Black exterior with red interior
30,705 miles
#9 of 145 in produced for the United States!
Currently fitted with HRE wheels but includes 4 New Old Stock (NOS) OZ Saturn wheels with Lotus Caps (everything still in their boxes) and screw kit.
GReddy Turbo Timer installed.
The S4 was complemented in 1994 by the S4 Sport (S4s). The most obvious external change from the S4 was the addition of a rear wing from the Sport 300. The engine was still a 2.2 L 910-series, but with performance-enhancing modifications that included enlarged inlet ports, cylinder head modifications, a re-calibrated ECM and a revised turbocharger. Engine output rose to 305 PS (224 kW; 301 hp) and 393 N⋅m (290 lb⋅ft) of torque. Top speed was 270 km/h (168 mph), slalom speed 99.3 km/h (61.7 mph), lateral acceleration increased to 0.91g and 0–97 km/h (60 mph) took 4.6 seconds.
The S4s first came stateside during the 1995 mid-production year and only 145 were built for the U.S. market while the V8 powered cars were unveiled for 1996. With such low production, the single turbo 4-cylinder versions have become a commodity among 1990’s sports car enthusiasts as well as collectors.
Notes:
1. Headlamp pod motors are currently not working: I've had this issue off and on since I've owned it. The last service has configured the lamp pods in the open position so that we can see at night.
2. Debris in fuel tank(s): I've gone through a couple of fuel pumps due to debris in the tank(s). It usually starts right up but debris has clogged the filter and/'or pump once again. The tanks will need to be serviced before she'll start again.
3. Phantom drain on battery: Something draws from the battery and I've been unable to locate the culprit. To save batteries, I've simply kept it connected to a trickle charger.
4. No heat: The temperature dial spins freely and is stuck in the cold position.
5. Engine bay struts: The struts that hold the engine bay hatch up need to be replaced.
6. Window trim: The metal window trim on the outside has a bit of rust on it and will need some attention.
7. Glass Roof: I do not have the glass roof as it didn't come with the car when I got it.
I originally leased this vehicle from The Toy Barn in Ohio back in the late 90's and drove it home to Connecticut. I bought it out after the lease expired. It's finally time to let go. I'm in Lebanon, CT. Buyer to arrange pickup or shipping.
I require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 24 hours of offer being placed. A deposit is a commitment to purchase and is applied towards the purchase price.
