Description
This 2001 Lotus Esprit, Calypso Red over a Tan interior, is in incredible original condition. It's previous owner was a professional mechanic and true Lotus enthusiast. The car has been meticulously maintained. The car was bought new at Lotus of Denver (2001) and then had one subsequent owner before coming to the east coast. The current owner purchased the vehicle in 2014 and had the car imported to Canada (RIV certificate).
Mechanically, the car has several nice upgrades. The most noticeable are the genuine 3 piece HRE wheels, which the previous owner purchased at a cost of over $5000 ($USD). They are stock size and the tires were replaced a few years ago, and are still in grate shape . The car is equipped with a custom (Tubi exhaust $2500 ) and sport cats, as well as blow off valves. The car also runs a fully adjustable suspension with poly bushings. There is a factory glass roof included with the vehicle, as well as the AP racing four piston calipers that came with that model year.
The timing belt was replaced with a Gates belt a few thousand miles ago. Gates belts are long lasting alternatives to the stock belts. All fluids have been changed since purchase (transmission, clutch and brake fluid, oil, rad fluid, etc) and a brake service, and 4 wheel alignment, were recently completed.
The nose and sills of the car are wrapped in a Star Shield clear bra to protect it from the road. The overall condition of the car is remarkable, with only a few minor signs of use, namely a few small stone chips, the normal (but slight) wear to the driver's side seat bolster, Other than that the car is about as immaculate as you could get for a 14 year old veicle. The paint is absolutely beautiful and the interior looks practically brand new. It has a clean car proof and can be provided to serious parties. The car has never been tracked or abused in any way. The car comes with all its records, its original window sticker, a fitted car cover, car and service manual, as well as a number of items for the next tune up.
