Description
This is Maserati chassis # , a 1964 Maserati Sebring. The Sebring was based on a shortened version of the original 3500GT chassis and bodied by Vignale. Only 348 of the Series 1 cars were produced between 1962 and 1965.
This car is in very nice cosmetic condition and excellent mechanical condition. Body work and paint were done by the previous owner about 10 years ago. The previous owner also did the interior in Conolly leather with Wilton Wool carpets. He made sure the leather was cut and stitched as original. Since I’ve owned this car it’s had the engine rebuilt, a new transmission, new suspension bushings and new steering bushings. During the engine rebuild all auxiliaries were either restored or replaced: carbs, starter, alternator, radiator, etc. It’s covered roughly 3000 miles since the engine rebuild, has been trouble free and a joy to drive.
This car will never be judged at Pebble Beach (all though it has been well received at every local show it’s attended and won a few awards as well). This is not a car that you’ll trailer to a show and only drive from the parking lot onto the field. No, this is a car that you will drive to the show, in the mountains, or on country roads. And you will drive it without fear of breakdowns or of damaging a six figure restoration. It’s a blast!
I encourage anyone thinking about buying this car to come see it for yourself and/or have it inspected prior to bidding. If you can make it to the Denver area we’ll go for a drive. Of course, I can bring the car to any nearby shop for inspection. Please feel free to contact me through eBay with any and all questions at any time.
