Description

Up For sale is my 1987 Mazda 323 GTX AWD 16V DOHC Turbo Custom Wide Body Edition.
The actually VIN for this vehicle is: JMZBF831200267703
This Vehicle has a none standard VIN as It was manufactured for the European market.
This was imported from the UK so it would be classed as an EDM model for all the purists:) Or the Father of the WRX and EVO, Yes the GTX did come first..
Extremely rare to find this model in the United States, as It would of been 1 of only 500 Pre Facelift models that were built by Mazda to take part in the World Rallye Series, back in 86/87 in the United Kingdom, current research suggests there are less than 6 of these cars left running on UK roads.
2019 Respray in Classic Mazda Silver.
Currently has 95,500 Miles on the engine and body from new, sitting on New 15" Petrol rims, BC Coilovers with Whiteline sway bar bushes front and back.
Pumps out a wicked tone through a 2.5" custom exhaust, and has the classic whoosh and flutter of that turbo sound we all know and love with turbo based cars.
Driven by a small but punchy Mazda B6T 1.6 Liter 16V DOHC Turbo engine, currently BHP is unknown due to the upgrades, but it was the 150BHP model from the factory before the tasteful upgrades were installed, and well maintained by my friends at RS Motors Burnsville MN, I was say anywhere from 160-190BHP.
Comes fitted with an upgraded fully remanufactured ($500 to be exact) VF11 Subaru Turbo Unit, with custom intercooler piping and a modest 9"x21" Yonaka Intercooler supplying the cool air, along with stainless oil lines, and custom Aluminum brackets to keep everything where it should.
Finished Of with a custom stainless steel heat shield to keep the heat away.
A Blox manual Boost controller and Pro Sport Boost gauge have been fitted to keep an eye on all that boost, along with a quick release Vintage Momo Steering wheel, so no one can steal your cool car:)
Custom Mazda-Speed Logos, Sonic the Hedgehog vortex Generators and a sticker bombed Sunroof on the outside with that classic raised hood staring at your aggressively from the front, this definitely is a RHD Mazda Monster:)
Interior is super clean with all the bells and whistles from an 80's car, manual windows, manual push out mirrors adjustments, sliding seats with tool box draws, yes it has a draw under the seats to keep your tools in:)
The driver's side seat has a Lumbar support and adjustable bucket seat wings, to keep you held in tight and supported.Super fun to drive, quick off the mark and a real head tuner, I get more questions about what it is than anything else due to the unique look of this small car, and the lack of mazda bagages, well until this summer:)
Maintenance has been kept up to the letter during my ownership of 8 Years, including just general upkeep and replacement of many old parts, recent but not all updates include new starter motor and alternator in the summer of 2021 just to name a few.
I have many more photos that I was unable to upload after my max of 24, and I do have videos of the car running to.If your local I'm more than willing to take you out for a test drive.
The car is fully insured, and fully legal to drive in the USA, its is registered as a Minnesota Car, and will come with vanity plates "1987GTX" There is no further paperwork you need to drive it, it doesn't need to be registered again with any government agency, you just insure it and off you go, it's now a USA car.
Outstanding version of a lost Rallye Car Icon, you will be hard pressed to find a better example probably anywhere at this point.Viewing is highly advices as its 35 years old road legal little rallye car:)
Winner of Back to 80's Car Show People Choice Award 2019 MN and 3rd Place at the Premier Minnesota Mile Car show in Aug 2021.
Unfortunately those awards and Plaques will stay with me and not come with the carbut I'm sure you'll win more:)
I could talk about the car all day so please don't hesitate to contact me with questions during the auction or if you need more information.
It's priced very fair in the current collectors market for these retro 80's Japanese cars, and I'm more happy to hear your offers.
Like many older cars this is an investment into something you will simply never see again.
I can't remember just how much love, time, and money I have out into this beast, unfortunately it now just sits lonely in my garage, and I really think it's time to go to a new home where it can be appreciated, driven and taken to some cool shows.
Far too many new parts to list and far too many long hours and lots of swearing have gone into this unique and very rare gem. Thanks for looking.
