My partner has decided to sell her Mazda as she is no longer able to drive a manual sadly, she also requires a 4x4 which means little Martina, as she has become known as in our house, needs to be rehomed :-( it will be a sad day when she's gone!
The little 1600cc diesel unit is fantastic fun to drive round town, it really shifts when you need it to! However it is equally at home when on a motorway or dual carriageway, we took her to France last year and down to Brighton this year and she was superb to drive. I was pleasantly surprised when we first brought her at how responsive she is. The gearbox is also lovely and tight and exceptionally easy to change up or down through all the gears. Economy wise you wont really get much better! She will happily average around 55mpg on a run and 45mpg around town, these figures are really fairly easy to attain as well.
If its comfort that your looking for then look no further, originally we brought the 3 as my partner has a spine condition which means she needs to have a car which has supportive and comfortable seats. Sadly most small hatchbacks nowadays all seem to have fairly cheap uncomfortable un-supportive seating! Mazda to the rescue! I've never sat in a car quite this comfortable, for the price I doubt you could find anything better. The interior on Martina has been well looked after and is almost as new really, there are no burns or rips in any of the seats and all upholstery looks to be in fantastic condition. The stereo system is also great! The speakers sound like they are of the highest quality. There is practically 0 road noise when cruising down the carriageway. For a small car they seem to have endless space and a fair few large cubby holes too! The boot is a great size and will easily swallow whatever you choose to load her up with!
Recently Martina has had:
New rear brake pads
New rear brake discs
New rear brake calipers
New clutch
New DPF filter last year
Full service, cambelt, waterpump, tensioners and all filters + oil & brake fluid & complete engine flush
New turbo, replaced last year at the same time as the DPF filter
As you can see Martina has been exceptionally well cared for! Receipts for all the above will come with the car. With everything that has been done you can expect Martina to be in fine fettle for many years to come! She passed her last MOT with flying colours as well. Anybody who knows about cars will know that the DPF filter is an exceptionally expensive filter that once changed should not need changing again! One big expense the new owner will not need to worry about!
Mot until 22/11/2016, a nice long mot!
Obviously being a 9 year old car then she does have some marks and scratches, nothing too bad however, they would all T-Cut or polish out, we've just not been bothered about them! The front tyres are also fairly close to the legal limit. However they will last a good few months yet.
