Description

Your chance to own a quite unique and fairly rare performance car for a bargain price
After much deliberation, I am selling this Mazda 6 MPS that I have owned since October 2013. It has been a great car to own, real nice and comfortable to drive. It has proven to be hugely reliable, a real solid car. I have had no major issues, and have carried out services etc as and when required.
Great car to go with the family on long drives, so smooth and easy on the motorway. Equaly, when alone, a great car to have fun with around the local A-roads.
This car is 100% standard. Not modified in any way.
These cars deliver both power and top end handling while staying comfortable to drive.
--2006 (October) Mazda 6 MPS
--Titanium Grey Metallic
--64,300 mileswill go up as the car does get used!
--MOT April 2016
--Had 4 new tyres for the MOT (Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 225/40 18)
-- VVT done in February by the much used David Hastie (who described the engine as 'incredibly clean inside')
--Just had full oil and filter change (+ new windscreen wipersevery little helps!!!)
--2 working keys and fobs
--Bits of historyMOT's, services, receipts
--Always allowed to warm up on starting and tick over before turning off
--I always use Shell VPower Petrol
--No smoke at all when running/boosting etc
--Other bits included but not fittedEibach lowering springs, AUX audio cable, short shift plate, OCB Reader
You get a lot for your money with these cars. The 6 speed, 4 wheel drive, 2.3 turbo delivers 256hp and 280 ft/lb torque. Enough for a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds.
The spec list is a good one too..18-inch alloy wheels, Sports Appearance Pack with unique grille, bonnet, bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler, electric/heated door mirrors, body-coloured mirror housings, xenon headlamps with automatic levelling, front fog lights, dual exhaust pipes, remote keyless entry with central locking and dead locks, electric front and rear windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, electric sunroof, leather seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, sports bucket-style front seats, centre armrest with storage and cup holders, leather steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever, height and reach adjustable steering wheel, six-CD autochanger and seven-speaker Bose audio system, steering wheel mounted audio controls.
To me, overall, the car is in 'very good condition'. Keeping in mind it is now 8.5 years young!
The interior is pretty much spot on. All electrics workwindows, sunroof, mirrors, sound system, lights, heaters, seat adjustments, central locking, alarm, steering wheel controls etc. Seats are in very good condition. Carpets and original MPS matts are in very good condition.
The exterior is probably overall 'good' condition. There is a small crack in the rear bumper by the boot lid (there when I bought the car). The rear arches have the little patch of rust bubbles that seem to be quite common where the arch meets the rear bumper(something to do with the rear bumper rubbing?). I noticed these just after I bought the car and they don't seem to have got any worse. There is a very small hard to notice 'ding' on the offside rear door, probably from some idiot opening their door onto mine. The front alloys, more so the offside alloy, have some kerbing and peeling. Other than this, the rest of the body and paintwork is fine.
Other points of note:
Air Conditioning: Leak in one of the pipes.
I have been very open and honest about this car. I have read many adverts for these cars recently and very few seem to mention anything about the VVT, which is essential to have done (usually between 50-60k). Also there sems to be very liitle mention of the known common problems such as the arches and air con.
