Description
Hi and Welcome to my Auction for this fine example of an
iconic 90’s turbo.
I recently purchased this excellent example of the MX6 from an elderly gentleman. He had it garaged since purchasing it from an elderly neighbour who could no longer drive.
The 1991 MX-6 GD turbo is 4 wheel steer. It has low km’s for the year model. It is currently on 114000km. It features full service history and had the drive belts changed at 100000km’s.
The tyres all have good tread and the vehicle features the original alloys, the spare is in the boot and is also an original. The interior is in good condition with no rips or tears. The seats are old school body hugging sports seats.
The engine has just clocked over 113000km’s. I have seen these vehicles with over 300000km’s on them. This example is just run in. Since owning the car I have changed the oil filter, engine oil, the HT leads have also been changed, I changed the spark plugs also. The car has a K & N panel filter with a cold air induction feed which sits snugly behind the headlights. The car has a boost gauge and boost controller. The good news is I’m an old guy and I had hoped to get a performance chip and eventually upgrade the turbo. This has never happened and the boost currently sits on 10psi. The car will hit boost cut if you try and turn it up. The turbo spools as it should and being a front wheel drive it can be quite fun to drive. The car has a full stainless steel exhaust including a high flow stainless cat. I have spent quite a bit of money on this vehicle. I am selling it as my father and I have just purchased an old Toyota supra (mid-life crisis) which we plan on restoring to its former glory. So hence to say I’m looking for a cash sale please.
The car features its original head unit with a graphic equaliser!! WOW. I have replaced the rear speakers as the originals were squeaking when I listened to my smooth FM. They were replaced with some Sony explode speakers. They no longer squeak.
I had a mongoose M80 series alarm installed last week. It features a turbo timer as well. I have also purchased a set of slotted front discs and pads which I was going to put on but I won’t have the time. I have a spare oil filter also which will be thrown in. Don’t be alarmed by the pictures of the breather filters in the engine bay I have the original hoses that will also be included.
These vehicles are becoming quite rare, especially those that haven’t been blown up or boosted beyond belief. That being said I have heard these engines can certainly withstand some boost if you are that way inclined. I also have a VF10 turbo. The core from the rhb52 can be swapped with the bigger vf10. I was going to do this but decided to keep it original. It’s fast enough for me!
The body is in very good condition. It is borderline excellent. It has a few blemishes and age related marks and minor dents but nothing major. I have invested lots of time and money into this lovely vehicle I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I have.
Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions. I have two keys and log books, user manuals, receipts from new. I also have the original purchase receipt. Please come and view it, It really will be a case of first too see will buy. It’s a fine vehicle.
