Description
For sale is our little red Mazda MX5.
We have owned this car for 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it, but circumstances dictate that it is no longer practical, hence the sale.
It is a MK 2 model (the prettiest of the MX5's in my opinion) with the 1.6 litre engine.
It will have 12 months MOT as it has just expired. I do not anticipate any issues but will update the advert when it passes.
The car is in good condition for its age, with the following minor issues
There is some rust on the nearside rear wheel arch (pictured) which could do with fixing. This is common on MX5's and would be an easy fix for a body shop.
The lacquer has peeled slightly on the front left corner of the bonnet and the previous owner touched it up with some paint which isn't a perfect match. Its only an inch or two across and you don't notice it unless you look for it.There is a slight misfire when the engine is cold, but it settles down once warmed up and drives perfectly.Other than these issues, the car is in good condition. Obviously, it has some marks in the paint commensurate with its age, but looks lovely.
The hood is in excellent condition, with no leaks. The rear glass windscreen heater works too.
The car is fitted with a CD radio with blue tooth connectivity.
All 4 tyres were new this year and have done very few miles. The space saver spare is also present.
We will be very sad to let this car go. There really is nothing quite like an MX5 to put a smile on your face (How many cars actually make you smile these days?) It really does make even the most mundane journey to the shops into a pleasurable experience. The roof can be raised and lowered in seconds from inside the car, so there is no excuse for not enjoying open air motoring at the merest hint of blue sky. In fact, the heater is so good, you can still have the roof down when the weather isn't so good.
