I'm sadly selling my much-loved little MX-5 as I just don't need a car any more.
Ownership History
I've owned this car for a year - I'm the third owner. The first two were a mother and daughter - the mum had it from new and put virtually no miles on it, so after a few years gave it to the daughter who did the bulk of the miles, and then I bought it from a broker last year (all paperwork is present to support this).
I bought the car to drive to work but have since changed jobs so I just don't need it any more.
Mileage, Servicing Etc
It's a cracking little car. Only 53600 miles, full service history, and passed its last MOT with no advisories. I replaced all four sets of pads and the front discs last November and have only done 3000 miles since. Sills (common issue on this model) are in good shape. This car has been looked after by myself and, as far as I can tell, by the previous owners too. MOT and tax until end of November 2015. The car has just been fully cleaned and valeted.
Driving The Car
Gearbox and clutch are smooth as new. Engine purrs and drivetrain all in great shape. Goes round bends with a smile - this car is a so much fun and in great nick.
The roof goes up and down as smoothly as new, and is 100% tight still.
I've taken this car around France and Belgium, Scotland, Wales It's driven like new for the entire time. Accelerates and brakes perfectly straight. I put the roof up and down all the time and the mechanism, seals and roof fabric are perfect.
Minor Imperfections
The car is 11 years old and shows a few small signs of that. See photos for snaps of:
- Scratch marks on glove box (see pics)
- Light scratch on boot lid (see pics)
- Small stone chip on the front (it's on the plastic, not the metal bodywork - see pics)
- Light scratching low down on the rear bumper (see pics)
- The wheels have some scuffing (see pics)
- There's a tiny, very, very slight indentation on the front right wing panel. It's so minor I could barely tell it was there, and I tried my best to photograph it but it's so subtle it's tough to pick out (see pics)
Summary
All paperwork is present - the car has a full service history.
This is a hassle-free car for fun weekend road trips or everyday use - either way you'll enjoy driving it, and it will may well appreciate in value as really tidy examples become more scarce.
