I bought this MX5 to do a driving trip to Snowdon with 5 friend in other MX5’s.. The trip was fantastic the roads were awesome and I fell in love with this mx5.. I have owned another MX 1.6 and this 1.8 really does drive as well as it reads on paper there are a lot of rotten dogs out there… for its age its fantastic fun the Torsen LSD and Bilstiens really transform these cars the chassis is stiff the engine revs freely and sounds sweet through the Mazda speed exhaust. The body is rust free and everything operates as it should I use this car to commute and it starts on the button every time!
Bad points: The car is 22 years old and was imported to the UK in 2008 I believe. It has age related marks and dings nothing major. The worst part is the paint on the PAS front wing and the front bumper the previous owner has had a DIY go at it and it’s not the best. The Pas rear sill has been patched but is solid. It’s only really some areas of the paint that let this RS down. The rear spoiler has been removed and it has rubber grommets in the holes left behind..
I also have a immaculate silver hardtop for sale with Mazda cover and wall mounting brakets this will be an additional £350 on top of the sale price if you require it
I have included some of the prices of parts if you were to break this car to give you an idea of its worth.. my plan was to try to and restore it to its former glory and I didn’t intend to sell but sadly an imminent house purchase forces sale L.
